“At this point, you still want to play innocent?” Adrian slowly straightened. “You forged pregnancy records,

bribed doctors, spread lies about Summer, and drove a wedge between us. You schemed your way to my

side and really thought you’d get away with it?”

Lola collapsed onto the floor, shaking all over, tears streaming down her face. “Adrian, I know I was wrong. I

really do. Just give me one more chance. I swear I’ll never do it again…”

“A chance?” Adrian laughed, and the sound was full of mockery. “When you were framing her and pushing

her into a mental breakdown, did you ever once think about giving her a chance?”

He lifted his eyes and gave a curt order toward the door. “Bring them in.”

Two bodyguards stepped in at once, followed by a lawyer, and the atmosphere in the room instantly turned

even heavier.

“First, freeze every account and every asset under Lola’s name immediately. Take back everything I ever gave

her, and get her out of my villa.”

“Second, have the lawyer compile all the evidence of her fraud and malicious framing, then send it to everyone in her social circles. Make everything she’s done public. I want her utterly disgraced.”

“Third, isn’t she good at pretending to be sick to win sympathy? Send her to the locked psychiatric wing of a

private hospital. Without my permission, she is not to leave. Let her spend every day and every night in some forgotten place thinking about what she’s done.”

The second Lola heard that her reputation would be ruined and that she would be locked away for good, she

completely broke down.

“No! Adrian, you can’t do this! I really do love you!”

“Your love is lies, manipulation, and harm. I want no part of it. From today on, you will never appear in front

of me again, and you will never have the right to say Summer’s name.”

He gave the slightest motion of his hand, and the bodyguards moved in, hauling up the sobbing, struggling

woman.

“And one more thing,” Adrian said coldly. “The bastard you’re carrying isn’t mine, so there’s no reason to keep

Lola’s face changed instantly. Panic completely took over.

She crawled to Adrian’s feet, clutching at his pant leg, all pride gone.

“I’m begging you, I really am. Do whatever you want to me, just don’t hurt my baby. Adrian, I know I was wrong. I’ll do anything. Anything you ask.”

But Adrian kicked her away, his gaze glacial.

“It’s too late to play the devoted mother now. Lola, this is what you deserve.”

Her hair was a mess by then, and seeing how things had turned out, she stopped pleading and let out a

sharp, bitter laugh instead.

“Adrian, you really are heartless. No wonder Summer would rather let me get pregnant with your child. No

wonder she fought so hard to get away from you. You bastard. You don’t deserve to call yourself human.”

“Just wait. I won’t… I won’t let either of you off for this.”

Adrian frowned impatiently and flicked his hand again.

Very soon, Lola was dragged away to a hospital and locked inside a heavily secured room.

There was no luxury, no admirers, and no stage left for her to perform on-only four blank white walls.

It was the longest and cruelest punishment she could have been given.

Everything she had carefully built collapsed in an instant once the truth came out. All of it was reduced to

nothing.

Adrian stood alone in the empty hallway, the wound on the back of his hand still throbbing, but it was

nothing compared to the regret eating through him.

He had punished Lola.

But the Summer he had lost was still nowhere to be found.

Leaning against the cold wall, he shut his eyes, and all he could see was the girl’s hopeless, lifeless stare. The pain in his chest nearly suffocated him.

Then, at that very moment, his assistant called again.

“What is it?”

“Mr. Carter, we found news of Mrs. Carter!”
