Reborn as Mogul Sons’ Foster Mom Chapter 08

Reborn as Mogul Sons’ Foster Mom Chapter 08 The Interrogation.

At that moment, Brittany would not stop ranting. “Mr. White, I know you’re into Leilani, but you’re only seeing the fake version of her!

“You can’t just jump into marriage because of the kids.”

Nathan rushed over, too.

“Mr. White, I used to date Leilani. I know her better than anyone. She’s a master at faking things. Don’t let her fool you.”

He turned and glared at me hard. “We were together for seven years, and she still had no problem getting me thrown in jail. Imagine what she could do to you.

“Did you know my mom was so stressed because of her that she had a stroke? She’s stuck in bed now!”

Nathan shouted, tears all over his face, like just hearing my name made him sick.

People around us started looking at me differently-angry and nervous.

“That’s horrible. How can someone be so heartless?”

“Good thing these two showed up, or Mr. White would’ve been trapped by this dangerous

woman.”

“She even killed her own sister. Someone like that deserves to rot.”

The crowd started buzzing with whispers, and the whole event quickly turned chaotic.

“Lani, do you have anything to say?” Benedict asked, glancing at me.

His words snapped me out of my head.

Before this, I had no plans to mess with Nathan and Brittany again.

But now? Now I was almost sure they had something to do with my sister’s death. I could not let them walk away from that.

So I spoke up. “Ben, can you call the police?”

Then I looked right at Brittany and Nathan. “Since you’re both so confident that I’m guilty, we will let the police figure it out.”

However, instead of panicking, they looked totally relaxed.

“Go ahead, call them,” Nathan said, acting all brave. “Can’t wait to hear your excuses.”

“You’d better start thinking about changing in jail,” Brittany added with a smug shake of her head, like she already believed I was doomed.

In under ten minutes, the cops showed up.

Because the situation was serious, they took all three of us-me, Brittany, and Nathan-to the station.

In the interview room, I told them everything-starting from the moment I came back to life up until now.

They kept questioning me, asking the same stuff over and over.

I answered every question calmly.

However, after five straight hours, there was still no sign they were going to let me leave.

I felt a wave of confusion and finally asked, “Officer, I’ve finished my statement. When can I go home?”

One of the officers looked up and replied, “Sorry, you’re now considered a suspect. You can’t leave for now.”

I frowned, completely confused. “What? Just because of their random accusations, I’m a criminal now?

“My sister’s already been cremated, and now they show up making things up to pin it on me?

“How can you believe two scammers who already have criminal records?”

My voice rose without meaning to, and I could feel myself getting frustrated.

Seeing that, one of the officers calmly raised his hand. “Don’t get worked up. Try to stay calm.

“Right now, Brittany and Nathan are accusing you of murder, so we have to list you as a suspect. That doesn’t mean you’re guilty.

“Yes, your sister’s cremation makes this case harder, but we’ll investigate everything carefully. We won’t let an innocent person suffer, and we won’t let the guilty walk free.”

His words made sense, so I forced myself to breathe and relax.
