Reborn as Mogul Sons’ Foster Mom Chapter 02

Reborn as Mogul Sons’ Foster Mom Chapter 2 Real Parents
Upon hearing Brittany’s words, a cold glint flashed in my eyes.
Three?
She really thought she was being generous.
Without hesitation, I shut her down. “No need, Brit.
“These five are still so little. I won’t let them suffer the pain of being separated.”
A flicker of awkwardness crossed her face.
She gave a dry laugh and tried to explain, “Lani, I’m only trying to help you, I … ”
Before she could even finish, the kids in my arms puffed up like little balloons. “You bad woman! We don’t want to go with you!” they cried angrily.
Nathan’s face darkened, clearly displeased. He frowned at me. “Leilani, Brit’s just trying to help. You didn’t need to bad-mouth her in front of the kids—that’s over the line.”
I shot him a cold glance.
“Apologize to Brit,” he snapped.
I ignored him. Without another word, I stood up and gently guided the five little ones toward the room.
Right now, arranging my sister’s funeral was the priority.
As for those two …
I paused at the door and looked back at them. “You should go. I need some quiet time with the children.”
Then I shut the door in their faces with a firm bang.
Nathan and Brittany exchanged looks, clearly not pleased, but they left without another word.
I knew they would not let it go that easily.
However, I did not expect them to pull their next move so fast.
During the funeral, just as everyone was silently bowing their heads, a shrill voice suddenly pierced the room.
“Lani! Great news! I found the quintuplets’ biological parents!”
The room buzzed with shocked murmurs. All eyes turned.
Brittany and Nathan strode in, looking proud of themselves.
Right behind them was a pot-bellied man and a woman with an air of arrogance.
The man walked straight toward me, sizing me up without a hint of courtesy.
“You’re the sister of the woman who adopted my kids?”
The woman’s expression was even more gleeful as she looked at the children. “Babies, come to mommy!”
I instinctively stepped in front of the little ones, shielding them behind me.
The man’s face soured instantly. “Hey, what’s your problem?” he snapped. “Give us our kids already.”
I did not say a word.
Brittany pulled a paper from her bag and handed it to me. “Lani, this is the DNA test,” she said.
“Nathan and I worked really hard to track them down.”
“Oh really?” I sneered, tossing the report aside without even reading it.
“I don’t buy it.”
Brittany’s face darkened.
She shot a look at the man beside her.
Getting the message, he quickly spoke up, “What’s your deal? Are you seriously not giving the kids back?”
“Young people these days! How could you be so selfish and try to keep someone else’s children?”
The woman jumped in too, clearly upset.
I stayed calm. “How do I know you’re really their birth parents?”
“Of course we are!” the couple answered at the same time.
“In that case, let’s call the cops,” I said coolly.
That threw them off.
Even the others in the room looked confused.
“Lani, what are you doing?”
Nathan frowned.
“My sister legally adopted these five kids from the orphanage,” I replied.
Brittany looked serious. “Lani, even if your sister were still alive, you’d still have to give them back to their real parents.”
“Did I say I wouldn’t?” I replied.
Brittany and Nathan’s eyes lit up.
However, right after, I spoke again, my voice sharp and cold, “Not everyone deserves to be called a parent. I’m reporting them for child abandonment.”
Hearing this, everyone froze.
