You Trusted Her. Now Live as Me Chapter 06

By the time Gavin woke again, it was late at night.

It took him a long time to remember everything that had happened.

“Daniel Brooks!”

Daniel immediately pushed open the door and entered.

“Mr. Whitmore.”

Gavin’s eyes practically burned with fury.

“Why didn’t you stop my mother when she had me sedated?”

Daniel lowered his head.

“Mr. Whitmore, I might as well tell you the truth. Mr. and Mrs. Whitmore were the ones who placed me at Whitmore Holdings in the first place. Technically, I’m your assistant, but they’re the people I really answer to.”

Gavin’s eyes flew wide.

Daniel was the man he’d personally chosen five years earlier, after taking over Whitmore Holdings.

And now he realized the trusted aide he’d relied on for five years had been a joke.

A crushing sense of helplessness swept over him.

No matter how hard he tried, he had never escaped the Whitmore family’s control.

He gave a bitter smile.

Even if he managed to win Nora Bennett back, what then?

He couldn’t even protect himself. How could he protect the woman he loved?

He clenched both fists.

“Where did Nora Bennett go? Don’t tell me you didn’t look into it.”

Daniel was silent for two seconds before answering.

“Ms. Bennett took her grandmother to a small town in the South.”

Then, sounding puzzled, he added, “About a month ago, you took over a café and put it in Ms. Bennett’s name. You also transferred some assets to her. You didn’t know?”

Gavin looked as if he’d been struck by lightning.

So not long after the body swap, Nora had already been preparing to leave him forever.

Gavin dragged a hand through his hair in frustration and let out a long breath.

“Where’s Sienna Blake?”

“She’s being held at Westbridge Police Headquarters. The evidence was solid, and a conviction was highly likely. She was looking at at least ten years..‘

Gavin looked up, disgust and hatred filling his eyes.

“Take me to see her.”

At Westbridge Police Headquarters, Sienna was curled up in a corner with her arms wrapped

around herself.

The polished, lively woman she’d once been was long gone.

Blood still stained her clothes, carrying a faint, nauseating odor.

The moment she saw Gavin, she dropped to her knees and begged.

“Mr. Whitmore, please save me! I never meant to hurt you. Nora Bennett, that vicious woman, set

me up!”

“She’s just jealous because I’m younger and prettier than she is. She’s afraid I’ll take her place, so she’s trying to send me to prison!”

Now, the sight of Sienna’s deceitful, lying face made Gavin sick.

“Shut up!”

“You framed Nora again and again because you wanted her place as Mrs. Whitmore. You even tried to kill people out of spite. After all that, you still have the nerve to claim you’re innocent? Have you

no shame?”

Tears and snot streaked Sienna’s face.

In a divided village, a young man from the lower village falls for his childhood…

“No, no, I… I just loved you too much.”

Still on her knees, she bowed again and again, begging desperately.

“Mr. Whitmore, please, just let me off this once. My family’s poor. I’m the only one they managed

to put through college. I can’t go to prison.”

Gavin’s face was expressionless.

“Keep dreaming.”
