Wrong Brother But Make Him Mine Chapter 09By Novel7s / May 13, 2026 Wrong Brother But Make Him Mine Chapter 09Late that night, I sat amidst a half–packed suitcase and a mountain of guilt. My phone screen was lit, frozen on the chat between Adrian and me. I scratched at my hair in frustration, my fingers hovering over the keyboard for a long time. Everything had happened too fast. I couldn’t live the lie anymore. Even if he hated me, I had to come clean. After spending all this time with Adrian, I felt he was not as cold, ruthless, and vindictive as Nolan made him sound. And Nolan should probably be able to forgive my little mistake of mistaking his sworn enemy for him. But how was I supposed to say it? It was so embarrassing. And if Adrian really had planned to use me to blackmail Nolan into owing him a huge favor, or to scare Nolan half to death, then wouldn’t I be… I bit my lip and decided to test Adrian’s attitude first. Stella:[Adrian, I want to tell you something.] He replied almost instantly. Adrian replied: [What?] Stella:[Does not needing my big brother anymore mean I’ve grown up?] Stella:[I’m already an adult, and I’ve overstayed my welcome. I think it’s time I found my own place.] The other side went silent. One second. Two seconds. Three seconds. Then a message popped up. Adrian replied: [That’s a breach of contract.] My eyes widened slightly, and I almost dropped my phone. Before I could figure out how to reply, there was a knock at the door. “Come in…” Adrian’s breathing was a little heavy. His throat moved, as if he was holding something back. “Why do you suddenly want to move out?” “Because of the guy who drove you home today?” My lashes trembled. For a moment, I did not know how to explain. “No…” “Stella.” Adrian called my name in a hoarse voice, with an emotion I could not understand buried inside it. “Tell me the truth. Have I been a bad brother? Because I can fix it. Just don’t leave.” “I…” “I know everything,” I said, finally making up my mind. “Know what?” “You’re not Nolan.” “I know I got the wrong Adrian. And you knew I was Nolan’s sister the whole time.” “I’m sorry for the mess I’ve made. I’ll be gone by morning.” “I’ll move out tonight and stop causing trouble for you. I won’t take any of the gifts you gave me. As for everything I spent, I can write you an IOU and pay you back in a few days.” “And one more thing. The mistake was mine. I was the one who was stupid. Don’t take it out on Nolan.” The air fell silent for a moment. Then Adrian said in a low voice, “So you thought I only took you in because I wanted to mess with your brother?” “Wasn’t that it…” “At first, I thought Nolan was pulling some kind of prank again. I wanted to see what trick he was trying this time so I could return the favor later.” “But that first night, I realized you had really mistaken me for him.” “I planned to call Nolan that night and tell him to hurry back and pick you up. But for some reason, I didn’t.” “Maybe I was reluctant to let you go. Maybe I was curious.” “My life was too monotonous and too boring. But everyone told me that as the most promising heir in the family, this was simply what I was supposed to endure.” “You were the first person to break into my quiet life and give me a gentle hug.” “So I thought I would just take care of you for Nolan for a few days and tell you later. Besides, he was up in the mountains and wouldn’t be back anytime soon.” “Then later…” His voice softened, as if he was speaking a secret he had hidden for a very long time. “I really didn’t want to let you go.” “I’m not a good man, Stella. I’m cold and I’m calculated. I was terrified that if you knew who I really was, you’d run.” “So I was afraid that once I told you, you would leave. And Nolan probably wouldn’t let me see you again…” I froze. Heat climbed up my face. “What… what do you mean?” Adrian looked directly into my eyes and said quietly, “I mean I like you, Stella.” “Not like a brother likes a sister.” Fireworks seemed to explode inside my head, crackling so loudly I could not hear anything and could not think at all. “Give me a chance to pursue you, okay?” His voice was a little hoarse, and emotion churned deep in his eyes. I opened my mouth, but my throat felt blocked. “I don’t know,” I whispered. He was everything I wanted, but the lie was so big. After spending this time with him, I knew most of the rumors about him were exaggerated or deliberately twisted. He had simply carried too much pressure too early, seen too many power struggles, and gotten too tired to deal with shallow relationships. But I had always seen him as my brother. I had never thought of him that way. “You don’t have to answer right away. We can take it slow. Spend time together slowly. Try slowly.” “Okay?” Adrian looked into my eyes and leaned down slightly. At some point, two buttons of his silk pajama shirt had come undone. The fabric draped softly, revealing the full shape of his chest. Below it, the deep lines of his abs appeared and disappeared beneath the loose silk. Oh no. I had been caught. I swallowed. “…Okay.”
