Wrong Brother But Make Him Mine Chapter 02

My mouth did not stop the entire ride.

“Do you remember when we were kids and you took me climbing that old tree behind our apartment complex? I fell off and knocked out one of my front teeth. You went so pale, then carried me all the way to the clinic.”

“Mm.”

“And that one time Dad bought all those lychees. You said we should race to see who could peel them faster, but you just kept feeding me yours until I was full. You didn’t even have one.”

“Right.”

“And the paper airplane you folded for me. You drew two little people on the wings and said the big one was you and the little one was me, and wherever it flew, we’d be together.”

“Sure.”

His responses were flat. Every now and then, he would glance at me from the corner of his eye, as if he was listening and not listening at the same time.

Slowly, I quieted down. A dull ache spread through my chest.

When we were kids, Nolan treated me like a queen. Whatever I said, he obeyed.

But now, after I had chattered on and on, he would not even spare me one extra word.

He had changed.

He really had changed.

But it was fine.

I clenched my fists silently.

So what if we were a little distant now?

Sooner or later, I would melt him with my warmth.
