The next day, I was a nervous wreck. 

After thinking it over, I decided to go to the physics lab 

and pick him up after class. 

The hallway was empty, and the lab door was 

half–open. 

I was about to find a place to sit and wait when, I 

spotted a guy acting like a total creep near the lab 

windows. 

That person was bent over, acting suspiciously as he 

pointed his phone through the window and recorded 

inside the lab. 

I looked more closely and found his figure strangely 

familiar. 

Wasn’t he the friend Adrian hated? 

Following the principle that whoever Adrian hated, I 

also hated, my protective instincts instantly shot through the roof. 

I marched over in three quick steps. 

Smack. 

I gave the back of his head a solid thwack. 

The guy stumbled forward from the hit, clutched his head, and spun around. 

“Why are you sneaking around with your phone out?” I 

demanded. 

“Are you trying to do something shady?” 

I planted my hands on my hips and glared at him, full of righteous confidence. 

“I’m recording a check–in video for my girlfriend. What does that have to do with you…” 

The guy stopped dead the second he looked at me. 

Then he gritted his teeth. 

“Do you know who I am?” 

“Why would I care?” 

He took a deep breath, as if he was trying very hard not to lose control. Then he forced out each word through 

clenched teeth. 

“I. Am. Your. Brother.” 

I rolled my eyes so hard I nearly saw my own brain. 

“Quit trying to claim relatives. My brother is inside doing lab work. Who are you calling your sister? 

Shameless.” 

“Stella. Lu.” 

He said it with that specific ‘big brother‘ authority that 

made my heart stop.
