When Love Turns to Ashes Chapter 02

When Love Turns to Ashes Chapter 02

Landon came back dusty, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand.

He walked towards me, with no trace of guilt or apology on his face, “Serena, I brought you your favorite bluebell flowers.”

The Canterbury bell represented loyal and unique love, and at this moment, it was held in Landon’s hand, like a joke.

I took the bouquet of flowers, and Landon thought I had calmed down. That’s when I started explaining, “Isabelle Chase has bone cancer this time, and her only wish is to marry me. We have grown up together since childhood, and I can’t let her wish go unfulfilled. So, three days later, I win get engaged to her.”

“You have always been so understanding, you must be able to understand me, right?”

His tone didn’t sound like an explanation, but more like an announcement, is he getting engaged to Isabelle in three days?

That was indeed a coincidence, I was also planning to leave three days later.

I nodded quietly.

In the past, Landon couldn’t stand my temper the most. He said that every time I encountered a

small matter, I always had to go to him to seek validation, repeatedly asking the question of

whether he loved me or not.

I gradually corrected myself and learned to be patient.

Now I am not noisy, nor do I ask him if he still loves me, Landon glanced at me somewhat surprised.

“Tomorrow I was going to move out and live with Isabelle. For the next few months, you might have

to inconvenience yourself alone.”

“Belle was a patient, and now she needs me more than you do.”

I smiled, put down the flower, and Landon, seeing that I didn’t object, leaned in to touch my face.

I dodged away without leaving a trace, the bright lipstick mark still clinging to his shirt collar, the sickly sweet scent of perfume drilling into my nose, making me want to retch.

Landon was rejected by me, he got angry, didn’t say much, and quickly left home.

And I threw both the flowers and the cake into the trash can, then proceeded to pack up my things.

I didn’t want the flowers, and I didn’t want Landon either. I no longer have any attachment to this

home where I lived for six years.
