Unfaithful Alpha’s Begging After I Left Chapter 09

Unfaithful Alpha’s Begging After I Left Chapter 09

Rhett arrived in a rush and planted himself squarely in front of me. He faced a stunned Vivian, his voice

dripping with impatience.

“Vivian, how dare you come barging into Aurora’s family territory like this?”

The moment Vivian saw him, a light sparked in her eyes. Like she’d spotted her salvation.

“Rhett, perfect timing! Tell me the truth. Did she force you to cut ties with me? We’ve had years of history. You don’t just throw that away overnight!”

Rhett swept a disgusted glance over her. Then he turned and looked me over carefully. Only after he confirmed I was unharmed did he step back in front of me, shielding me again.

“Vivian. Have I not made myself clear enough? I stopped liking you a long time ago. It’s over.”

“This was my decision. My choice. It has nothing to do with Aurora.”

Vivian couldn’t accept it.

“Impossible! You’ve never said anything like this to me before! If it’s not because of her, then why-”

“I neglected my mate before. I put too much value on so–called friendship. That’s why you got the wrong idea. And it’s why the person who actually mattered to me was left disappointed.”

Rhett’s gaze was cold. His tone left no room for argument.

“Vivian, I have nothing more to do with you. From now on, we’re strangers. Don’t contact me again. And stay the hell away from Aurora.”

Vivian’s expression shifted. Confusion. Rage. Then pure despair.

She looked at Rhett. Then she looked at me, standing there utterly unmoved. Something seemed to click into

place.

Or maybe she just realized there was no salvaging any of it. She stumbled backward.

“Fine… I see… Rhett, I see exactly who you are now…”

Her voice was hollow. She stared at me one last time, her gaze tangled with emotions I couldn’t name. Then she turned and left without looking back.

The parking lot fell quiet.

Rhett faced me, his expression full of remorse. “I’m sorry, Aurora. I brought you trouble again. I never imagined she’d track you down here.”

I shook my head. It didn’t matter to me.

That was when it truly hit him. I didn’t care anymore. His eyes dimmed.

He looked like he wanted to say more. But he knew he’d lost any right to plead his case long ago. He forced out a weak, hollow smile.

“…I’ll go now.” His voice was barely above a whisper. He paused, then added softly, “I hope… everything goes well for you, and all the best.”

I nodded. I left him with a single word. “Thanks.”

Back in Moonhold, my life found its rhythm again. Training the teens, resting, and occasionally heading out to the border to drive off stray wolves.

I packed my schedule full, trying to drown out the faint ache of loss that still crept in now and then.

That ache lingered for a long time. It wasn’t until the following spring that it finally began to fade.

I grew accustomed to the steady pace of my days. I even started accepting a few social invitations here and

there.

My life was quiet. But it was full.

Then, slowly, my interactions with the Alpha of my new pack, Ethan, began to increase.

His strength was formidable. He ran the pack with efficiency and order.

His temperament was calm and easygoing. He approached everything with careful planning.

What struck me most were his eyes. When he looked at you, it felt like he could absorb every ounce of your unease. Like you could finally set down a weight you’d been carrying for miles.

He noticed me first.

His pursuit matched his nature. Unhurried, but unmistakably clear.

No hidden agendas. No suffocating pressure.

Just earnest sincerity. He showed up in my life with quiet intention and built my trust, brick by brick, with

every action.

He was like a gentle stream, slowly seeping into a parched riverbed.

The hairline fractures left behind by my last love were smoothed away, day by day, in the steady presence of

his company.

It was hard to resist that kind of honesty.

So, half a year later, we held a grand mating ceremony. And he marked me with a tenderness I’d never

known.
