Two Years of Marriage, I Never Got My Wedding Ring Chapter 15

I looked down at my hand.

Two years ago, the ceremony had been a blur.

After the officiant finished the vows, a bridesmaid handed over the ring. Alessio was so drunk he could barely stand.

He had touched my hand.

But all I remember is that the ring felt loose.

Not long after the reception, the wedding planner said it needed to be taken for resizing.

It never came back.

I asked, “Where is the replica?”

Alessio was silent.

I understood.

“You can’t find it, can you?”

His voice was strained.

“I’m still looking.”

“Alessio.”

I closed the laptop.

“Did you ever consider that, until today, I believed you all just… forgot to give me the ring?”

He looked at me.

“I even made excuses for you.”

“You were drunk. The family was busy. Sofia left the country.”

“The wedding was chaotic, so it just fell through the cracks.”

Alessio’s expression darkened.

“Verona…”

“But now you’re telling me this was all planned from the very beginning.”

I looked up at him.

“And no one in the Ricci family noticed. You didn’t notice.”

Alessio just stood there. His lips moved, but no words came out.

His silence was more painful than any apology.

The phone on the table started to vibrate.

Isabella.

I didn’t answer.

Alessio glanced at the caller ID, then took out his own phone and called her back.

“Mom.”

I couldn’t hear what she said.

But Alessio’s face grew colder.

“Verona’s seat at the head table will be restored.”

Her voice rose sharply on the other end.

Alessio cut her off.

“Sofia will not be attending.”
