After that day, Carrion never came to see me again.

The money he sent me for my medical bills was also intercepted by Madeline.

Madeline had bought a secondhand freezer at a flea market in the human town.

That meant my mother’s body was most likely locked inside that secondhand freezer.

“Ms. Vesper, we can arrest the suspects immediately and return your mother’s body to you.”

I clenched my fists so hard that my nails dug into my palms.

If Madeline only ended up in werewolf prison, that would be far too easy on her.

Looking at the luxury hotel Madeline had been showing off on social media, my lips curved into a sharp, mocking smile.

“If you go now, they may tip each other off.”

“Madeline is hosting a party in three days, and the suspect Irinda will attend as well. On such a happy day, they’ll both show up together, which makes it a better time to carry out the arrest.”
