The Unwanted Mrs. Whitmore Chapter 07

The Unwanted Mrs. Whitmore Chapter 07

After Callum left, I called Evelyn.

“Evelyn, Callum knows about my boyfriend. He seems really angry.’

Evelyn scoffed.

“Don’t mind him. A man who doesn’t even know what he wants isn’t your problem. Focus on getting ready to leave the country. I’ll handle the rest.”

Yes.

When I talked with Evelyn about the divorce that day, I had already told her in detail about my plan

to move abroad with Evan.

After listening, she said it was good that Evan didn’t have a messy family.

It would mean a lot less trouble.

Once I settled abroad, she would come visit me.

She asked Helena to find a way to coax Callum into signing the separation agreement.

We had all quietly assumed that in 1 month, this marriage would officially end.

With Callum making such a scene today, I wasn’t sure whether something else would happen.

After hanging up with Evelyn, I sent Helena a message too.

The next day, Richard and Helena, who usually lived in the suburbs, suddenly went to visit Vivian.

At her place, they saw Callum, shirtless and dead asleep.

Helena had always liked Vivian.

Seeing that things had clearly crossed a line between the 2 of them, she immediately shook Callum awake and demanded that he make things official.

Callum’s face darkened.

Looking at the people in front of him, he had no way to deny it.

2 hours later, everyone gathered at Whitmore Estate to discuss my divorce from Callum.

When they learned the process had already started, everyone had mixed reactions.

Vivian, of course, could barely hide her joy.

Callum, however, looked like he was about to lose his mind.

His chest rose and fell, as if he wanted to say something.

In the end, he still said nothing.

Only after the matter was mostly settled did he walk straight toward me.

“Lena, you set me up.”

I said nothing.

“You pushed my buttons on purpose. You made me jealous. You made me lose control. Then I went to Vivian and slept with her.”

I admitted that when I saw Blake at the restaurant that day, I had wanted to force this matter into

the open.

But still.

“Callum, you were the one who looked down on me.”

“You were the one who stayed so close to Vivian.”

“You were the one who drove to her place.”

“And you were the one who made that choice.”

“You’re an adult. Once you make a choice, don’t pretend you’re the victim.”

“How did you become like this?”

I really didn’t like what he had become.

No matter how bad things had been in the past, to me, Callum had only been a man who hated me, but wasn’t evil at heart.

Maybe it was because he had spent so long being forced into a marriage with someone he didn’t

want.

Now he had twisted into someone I barely recognized.

I couldn’t help sighing as I looked at him.

“Callum, I know you’re tired of me. But you’re better than this. At least, you used to be.”

“Don’t do this to Vivian.”

“I haven’t forgotten. Back in school, when people picked on me, you stood up for me.

“My French was terrible, and you stayed after class to help me practice again and again.”

“You weren’t like this before. Evelyn was right. You’ve been protected for too long. You can’t even

tell what you want.”

“I know you haven’t been happy in this 5-year marriage.”

“At first, I thought feelings could grow slowly over time. Later, I realized one-sided effort doesn’t fix a marriage.”

“I truly liked you once.”

“If you really like Vivian, don’t disappoint her again.”

What had happened before was already obvious enough.

Callum cared about Vivian.

He liked her.

Even if he was only acting out because he was angry at me, he shouldn’t take it out on Vivian.

And he definitely shouldn’t hurt her with those words.

I only patted his shoulder lightly, like a friend, hoping he would calm down.

Callum looked awful, his emotions clearly close to breaking.

I sighed again.

This was all I could do.

Everything had been laid out in the open.

I planned to move out of the Whitmore home as soon as possible.

After we finished discussing the arrangements, Evelyn returned to her room alone.

Richard and Helena took Vivian to look at jewelry and gowns.

I prepared to go back and pack my luggage.

Callum followed me.

His eyes looked heavy.

“I’ll drive you.”

I didn’t refuse.

In the end, he drove me back to the townhouse.
