The Silver Moon Princess Returns: The Alpha Begins to Regret Chapter 07

They combed every corner, yet Emily was nowhere to be found.

The rogues who’d abducted her had also disappeared without a trace.

Daniel wasted no time ordering Mark to mobilize all the pack’s contacts and post a hefty reward for her whereabouts.

Weeks dragged on, and not a single lead turned up.

He spiraled into total self-destruction and despair. He bought bottle after bottle of liquor, locked himself in a small room, and drowned his sorrows in liquor.

Three days later, Mark came dashing in, visibly distraught.

“Alpha! The patrol just sent word. They found a body in the river in the South District. The preliminary identification confirms the body belongs to Emily.”

The faint spark of hope flaring in his chest faded to cold desolation in an instant. He lunged forward and grabbed Mark by the shoulders, shaking him violently.

“What are you saying?! How could Emily be dead?! She’s my mate! I never even got the chance to apologize! How could she be gone before I made things right?!”

He hurled the wine bottle beside him to the floor in a fit of madness. Tears streamed down his face.

“Emily… why did you have to die? I never got to tell you… I love you.”

At first, Daniel refused to believe it. But when the official death

certificate was placed in his hands, he was forced to accept the cruel truth.

He built a grave for her by the sea—the very place where they had first met and promised to stay together forever.

He brought all her favorite fruits and would spend entire days and nights sitting by her grave. When he returned to the empty pack house, he turned to drink again to numb the pain.

Later, Layla arrived at the pack house with a suitcase. She looked at his utterly broken and hollow demeanor with cold indifference.

“I’m leaving.”

Daniel froze for a second, then his eyes went lifeless again.

Layla set a pregnancy report on the table.

“My test results came back. I’m not pregnant.”

She paused, a subtle flicker of compassion crossing her face.

“But before I go, I have one final truth to leave you with. You lost a woman who loved you deeply.”

“I found Emily’s report by accident when I picked up mine at the pack hospital. She loved you deeply.”

With that, she turned and walked away without another glance.

Daniel scrambled across the floor to the coffee table, his hands trembling as he picked up the paper. Staring at Emily’s name printed clearly on it, disbelief washed over him first. Then overwhelming euphoria and desperate hope crashed over him—she had been

carrying his pup.

But that joy was crushed in an instant by overwhelming regret.

He remembered how he had kicked Emily hard in the stomach that day, all to defend Layla. Blood had seeped out right away, staining her white dress red…

A tsunami of agony and despair swallowed him whole. He collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.

In the dark night, nothing remained but his pained roars and endless remorse. He whispered Emily’s name over and over, but no one was there to answer.
