The Mate Who Broke My Wolf’s Heart Chapter 07

The Mate Who Broke My Wolf’s Heart Chapter 07

The next day, I went to Adrian’s Pack Law Firm as we had agreed.

Adrian had been my senior at university. He was also one of the most respected Council Attorneys in the entire Pack.

The moment he saw me, he froze.

“Lyra…”

Maybe it was because I was too calm.

I didn’t look like someone who had just survived a supernatural attack, been abandoned by her Family, and betrayed by her Mate.

I sat down and placed a storage device and a thick stack of printed chat records on the desk.

“These are all the evidence.”

Adrian took the files and started reading.

Page after page.

The more he saw, the darker his expression became.

“Kael is your childhood friend?”

“And Mira is your closest friend?”

“And this Selena…”

He looked up at me, his eyes filled with complicated emotions.

“Then what role did your Mate, Caden, play in all of this?”

I answered without hesitation.

“The final blow that broke me.”

“That illusion-created image wasn’t made by him personally.”

“But he knew I was being framed, and he still forced me to admit that I was the problem.”

“Even after I clearly refused, he let Selena move into my house without my permission.”

“Wouldn’t that be considered malicious behavior?”

Adrian was silent for a moment.

Then he closed the file.

“Yes.”

“Although it would be difficult to hold him criminally responsible, his actions are enough to create serious consequences through civil liability and Council Attorney ethics.”

I looked directly at him.

“Adrian, I only want three things.”

“First, I want to sue Kael, Mira, and Selena.”

“I won’t accept any private settlement. I won’t accept their fake apologies either.”

“They need to pay for what they did.”

“Second, I want Caden added as a jointly responsible party.”

“I want him to publicly apologize and take responsibility for the damages.”

“Maybe the law can’t put him behind bars, but I want him to lose his Council Attorney license.”

“I want the entire Pack to know exactly what he did.”

I paused.

Then I took another item from my bag.

A bank card.

“As for my Family…”

“I need you to investigate this account and trace the money trail.”

“If they were involved in any illegal transfer or helped fund a cybercrime operation, I want them investigated too.”

Adrian stared at the card.

“Lyra…”

“Do you understand what this means?”

“This means you’re ready to leave everything from your old life behind.”

I lowered my head and let out a quiet laugh.

There was no sadness in it anymore.

Only the calm that came after finally letting go.

“I know.”

“I used to think that because we had history, if I gave in one more time, everything would eventually pass.”

“But what happened?”

“They mistook my kindness for weakness.”

“They kept forcing me to step back until I had nowhere left to go.

“If they refuse to leave me a choice, then I won’t leave them one either.”

“They need to answer for the choices they made.”

Adrian stood up and placed a hand on my shoulder.

“Good.”

“Lyra, since you’ve made your decision, we’ll handle this as aggressively as possible.”

“I’ll apply for a Council Court investigation order.”

“We’ll obtain Kael’s device records and trace their financial records.”

“This wasn’t just some random attack. It was a planned cybercrime.”

“As long as we build a complete evidence chain, they won’t escape.”

When I walked out of Pack Law Firm, the sunlight was warm.

My phone vibrated.

It was a message from Caden.
“Lyra, where are you? I’m waiting downstairs at the old house.”

“The rain has stopped. Come out and talk to me.”

“Don’t be like this. I bought your favorite dessert.”

I stared at the screen and let out a cold laugh.

Then I typed my reply.

“Council Attorney Caden, don’t wait for me.”

“I’ve already taken care of the house.”

“And make sure you check your Council Court summons.”

I sent the message.

Blocked him.

Deleted his contact.

For the first time in a long while, I finally felt at peace.
