Scarlett gave three slow claps, her smile cold as she looked at Chloe like she was playing with an insect.

“That’s a lot of big talk.”

“Who knew a tiny place like Kingston could raise so many people who think their little pond is the whole ocean?”

“Who are you calling small-minded?”

Chloe scoffed. “You’re friends with Evelyn Blackwood, so I doubt you’re anything impressive either.”

“Those bodyguards must be actors you hired for the night.”

“If you really had power, why would you stay in a place like Kingston?”

As soon as she finished speaking, I stood up.

I was still wearing the oversized jacket I had ripped off one of them, but my voice carried unmistakable authority.

“I’ve never liked explaining myself. I prefer to let action do the talking.”

The moment I said that, several large crates were carried in from outside.

“Boss Blackwood.”

No one else knew what was packed inside those crates, but the lids kept shifting up and down, as if something inside was packed too tightly.

When Chloe saw that, she snapped her head up and stared at me.

“Evelyn Blackwood, what are you doing? What’s inside those boxes?”

As she asked, the people who had humiliated me all stared at the crates, visibly tense.

A cold laugh slipped from me.

“Cockroaches.”

“Didn’t I say I was going to make you two bastards eat them?”

“You remind me a little of my stepsister. But when it comes to cruelty, you’re not even close to her.”

“And even she couldn’t beat me. So tell me, what do you think is going to happen to you?”

Once they realized the crates were full of cockroaches, the color drained from Chloe’s and Adrian’s faces.

Adrian gagged, then pointed at me with a trembling hand.

“Evelyn Blackwood, don’t you dare.”

I planted one foot on a crate and looked down at him with a mocking smile.

“It’s only fair.”

“You sent cockroaches to keep me company in the bath. I’m sending cockroaches to feed you. What’s wrong with that?”

After saying that, I straightened and moved my foot away. The bodyguards behind me understood at once and began to move.

Chloe and the others shrank back like cornered animals.

“Evelyn Blackwood, if you dare make us eat cockroaches, the Whitmore and Prescott families will never let you get away with it.”

Adrian stepped in front of Chloe like some noble hero shielding his precious damsel.

Scarlett clicked her tongue.

“The Whitmore and Prescott families won’t let us get away with it? Please. If your old men showed up and saw us, they’d be on their knees.”

“Bullshit. Who do you think you are?”

“Heh. Worry about who I am later. Eat the cockroaches first.”

Once they realized we weren’t backing down, their smiles vanished completely.

They wanted to run, but there was nowhere to go. All they could do was keep retreating.

I looked at them coldly, Adrian included, as if they were nothing.

“Bring out every crate. Seal every door and window. Block every crack under the doors too.”

“Yes, Boss Blackwood.”

Adrian finally panicked. Little by little, his threats turned into pleading.

“Evelyn, don’t release those disgusting things. I’m scared.”

“Be good, and I’ll…”

Before he could finish, the bodyguards opened the crates.

“Ahhh!”

“Run!”

Piercing screams of terror echoed through the entire villa.

I smiled coldly and turned to leave.

“Make sure they eat.”

“Yes, Boss Blackwood.”
