Julian froze where he stood.

Unable to hold back, his assistant shouted at Clara’s back.

“Do you have any idea how much Mr. Grant has done for you? He hasn’t had a decent night’s sleep in days, and he’s still pulling connections to get Noah’s death sentence commuted to life. How can you be this

cold-blooded?”

Clara’s steps paused.

Julian frowned and said in a low voice, “Enough. I don’t need her sympathy.”

The assistant wanted to say more, but Julian silenced him with a look.

Inside the courtroom, every eye fell on Clara.

She sat with the defense, a lawyer Julian did not recognize at her side, though the man looked faintly

familiar.

At last, the judge spoke.

“Because the defense has submitted critical evidence, this case is hereby remanded for retrial. The prosecution may make its statement.”

Wendy’s eyes were red, and her voice trembled with sobs.

“The evidence I submitted was already complete. There was video footage. There was a forensic injury report. Noah did that to me. Why does the case have to be sent back for retrial? Why do I have to live through that pain all over again?”

As she spoke, she began to cry.

People in the gallery whispered among themselves. Some looked at her with sympathy.

This time, however, Julian did not immediately comfort her. Instead, he stared fixedly at Clara.

There was no expression on her face, as if everything Wendy had just said had nothing to do with anything

she cared about.

After Wendy finished, the judge looked toward Clara’s side.

“Does the defense have anything to present?”

The unfamiliar lawyer stood. “Your Honor, the defense maintains that the charge in this case cannot stand at

all.”

Wendy froze. “What do you mean?”

The lawyer glanced at her, his voice calm.

“Because the alleged rapist, Noah Bennett, has no male genitalia whatsoever.”

The entire courtroom fell into dead silence.

The next second, Julian shot to his feet. For the first time, panic appeared on the face of a man who had

always been composed.

Wendy’s face went deathly pale. “Impossible. That’s impossible!”

The judge struck the gavel. “Order!”

The lawyer continued.

“The defense has submitted Noah’s medical records. Mr. Bennett was injured as a child, and his male

reproductive organs were completely removed long ago. He cannot even urinate normally. How, then, could

he have raped anyone? This can be verified by a medical examination at any time.”

Everyone fell silent.

Then someone recognized the lawyer.

“Isn’t that Blackwood Group’s international counsel?”

“That unbeatable legal dream team? The international team that only handles billion-dollar cases?”

“Is what he said true? Noah has no male genitalia? Then how could he have raped Wendy?”

Julian could no longer hear any of those voices.

He stood there, his mind completely blank.

This time, he remembered what Clara had once said to him.

“Noah could never do something like that!”

“Wendy lied! She’s the one who should be in jail!”

What had he said back then?

“I believe you.”

But he had not believed her.

He had not even gone to see Noah once.

He had personally thrown away the evidence she submitted.

He had taken the case only to get justice for Wendy.

Julian closed his eyes.

Noah was physically incapable of the act.

From beginning to end, he had no male organs and no physical ability to rape anyone.

Wendy’s lips trembled, and she could not say a word.

But it was not over.

Clara also produced the key evidence from that day.

Footage from a well-hidden security camera showed Noah leaving and going home after arguing with

Wendy.

What shocked everyone even more was that Clara’s lawyer had also found witnesses proving that Wendy

had hired someone to pick the lock on Noah’s apartment, break in, and collect his belongings to fabricate

evidence.

Then, as each piece of evidence was verified and Clara’s lawyer argued the case, the full truth came to light.
