The Half-Blood Who Rejected Her Alpha Mate Chapter 06

The Half-Blood Who Rejected Her Alpha Mate Chapter 06

I gripped the silver blade and sliced it across my palm.

The moment blood spilled-the mate bond severed.

It was a bond carved into my soul. Forcing it apart felt like being torn in half.

My wolf howled inside me.

My limbs seized. I could barely stand.

Damian collapsed too. His face went pale, veins bulging at his temples.

He clenched his teeth, but a broken groan still slipped out.

“Raven… don’t…” Vera screamed and rushed to help him, but he shoved her away.

I bit my lip hard. Blood dripped from my palm, one drop at a time.

“I, Raven of Blackwood Pack… reject Damian of Blackwood Pack.”

I leaned against the wall and finally steadied myself. My gaze swept across every one of them.

Lester and Clara looked stunned. As if they’d never imagined I would be the one to do the rejecting.

Vera was already in tears, hovering near Damian.

Once upon a time, I craved their approval.

Even just a look that wasn’t full of disgust.

I believed Vera would be my best friend forever. Closer than my own blood.

And Damian, I’d thought he was my forever.

“I’ll leave,” I said coldly. “But I want a fair split of the hunters’ team assets.

“Otherwise, I’ll take this to the council of united packs.”

Clara’s expression twisted. “What’s that supposed to mean? Trying to extort us?”

“I’m taking what’s mine.” I said firmly.

Alpha Lester looked at me with cold indifference.

“I took you in. Without this pack, you’d have been nothing but a rogue.

“And without our training? You’d never have made the cut as a hunter.”

I didn’t bother arguing.

“Damian.” I looked at him.

“If there’s even a shred of feeling left-give me what’s mine. I don’t want us to end as enemies.”

His eyes tightened and his lips parted. He looked like he wanted to say my name, but the words never came

out.

A long silence stretched between us.

Then he lowered his head and asked, “There’s no going back… is there?”

“No.” My answer was steady. There’s no going back.

Despair filled his eyes.

“If that’s how it is… The last thing I can do for you… is give you the entire hunters’ team.”

“Damian!” “I won’t allow it!”

Alpha and Luna shouted at the same time.

“The hunters’ team was built by Raven!” Damian roared back.

Even under Alpha Lester’s pressure, he didn’t back down.

I didn’t care to watch their family drama.

I shut the bedroom door and cut off all sound.

The world went silent. Only my uneven breathing remained.

I leaned back against the cold door. Then slowly slid down to the floor. The tears came anyway.

Ten years of my life had been wasted.

After a while, a knock came at the door. Damian’s voice was hoarse.

“Raven… Alpha agreed. The hunter squad… it’s all yours.”

“Okay.” I answered through the door.

I kept packing faster, without hesitation.

I didn’t even look at the gifts he gave me. I threw them straight into a trash bag.

Last was the small photo frame on the nightstand, a picture of us under the moonlight.

I was in the middle. My arms around both of them.

My fingers lingered on the cold glass for just a second.

I opened the frame, took out the photo, and tore it into pieces.

The fragments fell like snow into the trash.

There had been warmth here once, and dreams of the future. Now there was nothing left.

I walked to the window.

Outside on the dirt road, the familiar black SUV was still there.

Damian leaned against it.

A cigarette between his fingers. The ash had grown long, ready to fall.
