The Gaming God Hated Clingy Girls Until He Met Me Chapter 10

At that exact moment, genuine panic finally set in.

Even though everyone on campus jokingly called me a “player” and a “social butterfly,” all my flirting had

been strictly theoretical. In reality, I was completely inexperienced.

Fortunately, Ethan didn’t make any further aggressive moves.

“Lily, I originally wanted to take things slow with you. But those comments you threw out in my stream made

it physically impossible for me to wait any longer.”

Now that my energy was returning, my voice regained its confidence.

“Well, that’s entirely your fault for saying things that were so easy to misunderstand! You were always so

cold to me, it made me feel like an absolute joke.”

“Yes, it was my mistake,” Ethan agreed smoothly before adding, “I should have dragged you straight to the

City Hall the first time you threw on that baby voice and called me hubby. It would’ve saved me a lot of

torturous restraint and prevented this whole mess.”

I gathered my courage and fired back, “Oh yeah? Then why didn’t you?”

“Because kids act on pure whims. Your feelings come fast and vanish just as quickly. You have the luxury of being reckless, but I couldn’t bring myself to be an actual monster.”

I looked down at my wrinkled pleated skirt and my completely wrecked collar, letting out a small accusation.

“And how exactly are you any different from a monster right now?”

Ethan leaned in. “Want to find out?”

“Find out what?”

“The difference.”

I immediately grabbed a pillow, holding it tightly in front of my chest like a shield, frantically shaking my

head in pure surrender.

I was completely blind. How had I failed to see the raw, wild intensity hiding behind Ethan Sterling’s pristine,

elegant exterior?

But the worst part was… why did I still find myself so completely infatuated with him? I didn’t feel a single

ounce of rejection toward his touch; in fact, there was a tiny, subconscious part of me that craved even

more.

Whatever. Maybe Chase was right. When it came to romance, I was completely hopeless.

“Ethan,” I whispered shyly, “what was that important thing you wanted to tell me next time we met?”

“A confession.” Ethan unbuttoned the top cuffs of his shirt, leaning down to press another desperate kiss

against my lips. “Lily, be my girlfriend.”

A long time later, my fingers tightly gripped the bedsheets, my voice trembling and broken. “No… I don’t… like

you…”

Ethan pulled his hand back, casually pulling out a tissue to clean up. “Lily, a good girl doesn’t tell lies…”
