The Failed Assassination by Jasmine Flower Chapter 08

The Failed Assassination by Jasmine Flower Chapter 08

I had wondered for a long time what I would do if Luis and Bianca fell into my hands one day.

Should I make them endure the same kind of suffering I had in the previous timeline and have dogs rip them apart?

Alas, I thought that such a plan was letting them off easy.

I wanted to destroy what mattered to them the most. I wanted them to turn against each other.

Luis used to be in security, so he naturally knew how horrible the tools the bodyguards had were.

His expression turned grim, and there was terror in his eyes.

“What’s the big idea? I’m your husband! Aren’t you afraid I’ll divorce you if you do this? How dare you have me beaten up! That’s disrespectful and deserves punishment!”

I smirked and calmly sat in a chair.

“Sure, beating my husband deserves punishment. But so would beating your wife!”

If Luis were arrested for the way he treated me in the previous timeline, he would surely be given a death sentence in court. But Luis had yet to do such things to me in this life, so he only felt disdainful when he

heard me.

“Don’t worry, though, I won’t be the one beating you. These were prepared for you. Don’t you two keep saying you’re each other’s soulmate? Well, if you want to survive, you only have to kill the other or give me proof of the other’s wrongdoing. The more you tell me, the happier I’ll be. When I’m happy, maybe I’ll let both of you go.”

Luis’ eyes widened.

Before he opened his mouth, I already knew what he was going to say.

“Don Tomasi already said this is a private family matter. Whatever happens, he won’t intervene.”

Luis’ gaze was unfocused. He seemed to be looking at me in a brand new way.

His demeanor was laughable.

“We’ve been married for so many years, Cara. Do you really want to ruin everything so thoroughly?”

I sighed in the same way Luis had in the previous timeline.

“It’s because we’re married that I can’t defend you blindly. I know you’re not a blindly ambitious person. It’s only in this way that we can convince Don Tomasi of your loyalty. Or do you want him to find out that you really endangered him because you ran off to see your misbehaving lover?” I looked at the

bodyguards.

“Get started. Make sure to put down a few extra layers of tarps on the floor. We don’t want to dirty up the

place.”

I leaned into my seat and waited for Luis and Bianca to turn on each other.

Luis finally realized that I would not believe his empty words about love anymore. When Luis opened his

eyes again, his gaze was filled with deep emotion. He looked at Bianca with pain and sadness.

“We grew up together, Bianca. You know that the relationship we have isn’t something that can be easily described with words. You’ll save me, right?”

Luis’ words were manipulative, just as manipulative as it had been in the previous timeline before he

tried to kill me. Back then, he had said a lot of sincere but cruel words too. And then, he had thrown me to

the dogs.

I clenched my fists and waited for Bianca’s response. Reality had proved that, in the face of death, any

relationship was an illusion. Bianca’s expression shifted. Her eyes became bloodshot as she gritted her

teeth and turned to Luis.

“Pah! I would be mad to trade my life for yours! I thought Don Tomasi liked the weak and fragile type. That was why I acted that way in front of him. What’s so great about you that I should die in your place?”
