The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 04

The Don’s Reborn Lover Chapter 04

Adrian was dressed like a waiter.

His eyes were full of raw possession as they traveled greedily over me from head to toe.

“You look beautiful.”

I was afraid of him, so I grabbed my skirt and ran.

Then something hit me.

He couldn’t hear.

A hotel like this never would have hired him as a server.

So if he had snuck in here, what was he planning to do?

I looked back.

He was still standing there, staring at me with a look that was equal parts obsession and despair, like he was saying goodbye to me forever.

He looked exactly like the doomed leads in those tragic dramas who can’t fight the injustice crushing them and finally decide to drag the villain down with them.

I ran back to him and searched him all over for a weapon.

He spread his hands, let me pat him down, and then smiled.

“You act like the perfect good girl, but you’re actually pretty brave.”

Adrian grabbed my arm and pulled me into his chest.

His hand pressed against the back of my neck as he held me so tightly it almost hurt.

His voice was calm, but there was madness under it.

“Your brother beat me deaf and got my mom killed.”

“I’ll come back for revenge.”

“Elena, don’t be scared. I’m not here for revenge today. I came to see you. You’ve grown up. You’re really… beautiful.”

My eyes stung.

In the end, I forced myself to find the courage and wrapped my arms tightly around his waist.

I knew he couldn’t hear me.

So I finally said the secret I had buried in my heart.

“At the freshman opening ceremony, you gave the student speech. I was down in the audience watching you, and I thought you were so handsome.”

“Adrian, I had a crush on you. No matter how hard I worked, I could never beat you, and my dad beat me for it. But even so… I still liked you for such a long time.”

“But Sebastian mattered more. I didn’t stand by you. I’m sorry… Go ahead and hate me.”

“You can hate me.”

The next time I saw him was ten years later.

Adrian had become the most feared Mafia don on the North Shore. No one dared stand against him, because he was the kind of madman who looked like he didn’t care whether he lived or died.

The moment he had solid ground beneath his feet, he went after Sebastian with ruthless efficiency.

Back in school, Sebastian had never been a match for Adrian.

In the underworld, he was even less of one.

Sebastian losing to Adrian felt less like an accident and more like fate finally catching up with him.

Adrian ruined him financially, stripped him of everything, and left him drowning in debt so deep he would never crawl out of it again.

I watched him fall from a golden boy into the dirt and become a complete wreck.

And I, too, was punished for the selfish choice I had made back then.

I became Adrian’s plaything.

At twenty-eight, Adrian was crazy. He had violent rage issues and could go night after night without sleeping.

He said the only way he could fall asleep was with me in his arms.

So he built a lavish estate and kept me there like a prisoner.

When he pinned me down and forced himself into my body, he would murmur, “you are sobbing again. My little breeder’s swollen with my seed……”

I whimpered “Don…” while riding his cock, he sinked hiscanines deeper.

I couldn’t take it anymore.

“Adrian Cross, how are you any different from Earl Cline when he kept your mother imprisoned?”

That same smile twisted across his face again, the one that looked worse than crying.

“You’re right.”

“I’m the son of a rapist. I’ve got filthy, disgusting blood in me.”

“Elena, hearing you say that hurts more than if you stabbed me. You might as well just stab me.”

He was spiraling again. He lost control, picked up the steak knife from the table, put it in my hand, and then wrapped his hand over mine and drove it toward his own chest.

The tip tore through his white dress shirt, and blood welled out.

“Don’t do this! You… you’re not that evil! Adrian… stop!”

“I don’t want you hurt!”

At last, he calmed down and let go of my hand.

I was drenched in cold sweat.

The knife slipped from my fingers and clattered to the floor.

Panicking, I fumbled with his buttons and pulled his shirt open to check the wound.

He had an incredible body, broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and lean, honed muscle.

It was beautiful.

But that beautiful body was covered in scars.

He had suffered through so much to claw his way to where he stood now.

And none of it had made him happy.

When Adrian saw how worried I was about him, a flicker of satisfaction appeared in his eyes.

“Elena, this is the second time you’ve unbuttoned my shirt on your own.”

He pointed to his cochlear implant.

“I can hear now.”

“Tell me what you said back then, when we were saying goodbye and you were in my arms.”
