The Deceived Luna Chapter 02

The Deceived Luna Chapter 02

I had nothing left.

My dignity was gone. The mate bond was a lie.

But I still had my daughter.

I couldn’t let her die.

Draven looked down at me, his eyes completely empty. “I’m going shopping with Nadia. Tomorrow morning marks your full three years, and I’ll release you then.”

“Kids get sick and fuss sometimes. If you don’t discipline them properly, they never learn to behave.”

He paused. “I know what this kid is like. She’d cry bloody murder over every little bump and scrape as a toddler. She’s definitely faking it.”

I clenched my fists until my knuckles turned white.

When I gave birth to my daughter, the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. It was a difficult labor, and I nearly died bringing her into the world.

Unlike other pups born strong and healthy, she had no wolf and had been frail since birth. Every time she got sick, I stayed up all night, unable to sleep.

And Draven thought she was faking it.

Just then, two bodyguards walked over. “Alpha, we just went to check. Grace is fine, just playing with her toys.”

Draven’s face twisted with annoyance.

When I heard the bodyguards’ voices, my whole body went rigid.

I looked up and recognized those two familiar faces.

My body reacted before my mind could catch up.

I sank to the ground, trembling all over. “Please… don’t hurt me anymore…”

For the past three years, these two men had lashed my back with silver whips, held my head underwater until I couldn’t breathe.

They hit me. And they hit my daughter.

Only now did I realize.

They weren’t Blackstone Cave guards.

They were just Draven’s personal thugs.

Nadia watched me cower on the ground, laughing so hard that tears formed in her eyes. “Isolde, looks like these three years have treated you well.”

“You’ve learned to lower your head, haven’t you?”

Draven and Nadia turned to leave.

I forced myself up, trying to stop them.

The two bodyguards grabbed me by the throat and slammed me to the ground.

Draven gave an order without looking back. “Take her back to her room. One more week locked up.”

Nadia smiled brightly. “See, Isolde? This is what happens when you try to run. Now you have to stay another week.”

My face went pale. I screamed at the top of my lungs. “Grace can’t wait that long! Please, just go see her!”

But Draven, with Nadia on his arm, walked away without a glance back.

The bodyguards pinned me down. I couldn’t break free.

They dragged me back to the “cave” and threw me on the ground.

I crawled to my daughter and carefully gathered her in my arms.

Her breathing was heavy and rapid, and her heartbeat was erratic, completely without rhythm.

My tears fell onto her face. “Grace, don’t be afraid. Grace, wait for mommy. Mommy will save you.”

I tried to scale the wall again.

But when I looked over the top, two rows of bodyguards stood on the other side, watching me.

I didn’t know what to do. Then the tall bodyguard who usually bullied me walked over.

He looked at me with a leering grin.

I stepped back. “What do you want?”

He held up his phone. Nadia’s voice came through the speaker.

“Isolde, I’ve been thinking about what you begged me for. I suppose I should help my own niece.”

Hope flickered in my eyes, then died just as quickly. “What do you want me to do?”

She laughed loudly. “Smart girl. Those two guards watching you have been… lonely lately. Keep them company, and I’ll let them release you.”

My mind went blank.

“Nadia! You’ve gone too far! Why are you doing this?”

Her shrill laugh came through the phone. “Your choice. If you don’t want to save your daughter, there’s nothing I can do.”

The call ended.

The bodyguard put away his phone and crossed his arms, watching me with amusement.

Another man walked over, wearing the same expression.

I looked back at my daughter.

She lay motionless on the floor. Her lips were cracked. Her face was ashen.

Her breathing was too shallow. I could barely hear it anymore.

I turned back to the two men, my whole body shaking. Then I reached out.

One button at a time. I undid my clothes.
