The Comments Told Me I Was Carrying His Only Heirs Chapter 10

Over the next few weeks, as long as he was free, Josiah came by every single evening to spend an hour doing prenatal education.

Even though there was still zero progress in terms of romance, we became much more familiar with each other compared to before, and our interactions grew far more relaxed and natural.

Mrs. Carrington occasionally dropped by with some premium organic supplements to check on me.

I found her much more terrifying than Josiah, so I was always on edge whenever we were in the same room.

She thought I was spineless, so she would often give me a cold stare and call me useless.

I simply smiled and put up with it every single time.

Because I was carrying twins, my belly grew much larger than a typical pregnancy, and the physical toll became increasingly heavy.

The moment I entered my third trimester, the discomfort kept me up at night, and the dark circles under my eyes got heavier by the day.

One evening, while Josiah was reading for his prenatal session, I ended up nodding off against the back of the couch.

But before I could sleep for very long, one of the babies kicked me wide awake.

The strike landed directly against my ribs, making me gasp out loud in pain as I snapped awake.

Josiah set his phone down and walked over. “What’s wrong?”

I gritted my teeth, “They kicked me again. That one was really hard.”

Josiah blinked in surprise, then knelt in front of my belly, “You two better behave in there. If you keep being bad and kicking your Mommy, I’ll personally spank your butts once you’re born!”

I stared at Josiah in utter astonishment.

Josiah seemed a bit taken aback by his own words as well. After a brief pause, he exchanged a knowing smile with me.

For a split second, I felt completely dazed.

It felt as though we were a real, happy couple.

But I snapped out of it almost instantly. Josiah didn’t like me.

The only reason he treated me well was that I was carrying his children.

Besides, our dynamic was a pure business arrangement; he didn’t owe me a single thing.

I shook off those unrealistic fantasies and corrected my mindset.

Josiah gave my belly a few more stern warnings before standing back up, “I’m not busy tomorrow. I’ll take you for your prenatal checkup.”

My instinct was to politely decline.

But remembering his unyielding, commanding personality, I swallowed the refusal down.

[Are Josiah and the extra ever going to get a romance plotline?]

Watching this is literally driving me insane!

[It could go either way at this point.]

[You’ll have to ask the author about that one, depends entirely on how she wants to write it.]

[Hey Author, can the extra Ophelia just be Josiah’s endgame partner?]
