The Comments Told Me I Was Carrying His Only Heirs Chapter 11

The next morning, Josiah accompanied me to the hospital for my prenatal checkup.

The doctor told us that the babies were developing perfectly normally and that my health was in excellent condition.

Judging by how things were tracking, we were well on our way to a full-term delivery.

Both Josiah and I were absolutely thrilled.

Multiple pregnancies carried a much higher risk of premature birth.

Premature babies were far more vulnerable to health complications, so the closer we could get to the actual due date, the better.

But the moment we stepped out of the examination room, Josiah froze completely, the warm smile vanishing from his face in an instant.

Noticing something was wrong, I followed his gaze across the hallway.

A young man and a woman, both possessing stunning looks and a commanding presence, were just walking out of the clinic opposite ours.

It had to be the FL and… the ML.

The couple also paused in surprise when they saw us.

The moment the ML processed the situation, his face darkened completely.

The FL managed to offer a stiff, awkward nod before grabbing the ML’s arm and quickly pulling him away.

Feeling a sudden wave of awkwardness, I murmured, “I’m sorry.”

Josiah snapped out of his trance and let out a self-deprecating laugh, “There’s no need to apologize. It’s not your fault. I’m the one who lost her.”

I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Good. As long as he didn’t blame me.

Perhaps my sense of relief was a little too obvious, because Josiah chuckled softly and said, “Don’t worry, I would never blame you for this. What are you in the mood for? More BBQ?”

The last time I had enjoyed that rich, spicy comfort food was the day we got our marriage certificate, and I was definitely craving it again.

“Yes, please!”

Just like last time, after a few bites of the flavorful food, the babies started moving around incredibly happily in my belly.

Fortunately, I had already grown completely used to their little punches and kicks.

Once we left the restaurant, Josiah drove me straight back to the penthouse before rushing off immediately to take care of things at his company.

[We are literally approaching the finale, and Josiah and the extra haven’t even started flirting yet. Are they seriously not going to have a romance storyline?]

[Don’t panic just yet. There might be some bonus chapters, they’ll probably end up together in the epilogue.]

[Hey Author, put Josiah and Ophelia together, or else you’ll be hearing from me.]

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

They were actually resorting to threats now.

But at this stage, the direction of this story was most likely out of the author’s control anyway.

After all, everyone in this world had their own minds, thoughts, and consciousness.
