[Can someone tell me why Griffin just added her? He didn’t even see her face!]

[Don’t worry. She’s Brynn’s roommate. Griffin’s with her now. He probably added the whole dorm.]

Those comments settled my stomach a little.

All I wanted was to get through four years of college quietly.

The last thing I needed was to get tangled up with someone like Griffin Hayes.

I hit “Decline” without a second thought.

Then I climbed into bed.

Meanwhile, Brynn’s side of the room was buzzing.

“Brynn, show us his Insta! Did he post anything about you yet?”

“Griffin never adds anyone. Like, I heard he’s got maybe ten people on his list total. But now that you’re his girl? You’re definitely pinned at the top.”

Brynn’s face went stiff.

Like she just remembered something. Her fingers started scrolling frantically through her friend requests.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

One roommate jumped in to smooth things over.

“He’s probably just all over the place and spaced it. Just add him, Brynn. He’s practically already yours—you just gotta close the deal.”

That did it.

The color came back to Brynn’s face, creeping up in a shy blush.

She took a breath, found Griffin’s profile in the Student Council group chat, and hit “Add.”

Less than a minute later—even through my blanket—I heard her scream.

“He accepted! Griffin accepted!”

I let out a breath and drifted off, satisfied.

The comments kept flickering.

[Thank god. I thought he only added Sage. If he hadn’t accepted Brynn, I wouldn’t have slept a wink tonight.]

[But it’s kinda weird, right? There are three other roommates and he only added that one. Why?]
