The Comments Said My Daughter Belonged to Him Chapter 05

I kept my eyes on my daughter.

The comment feed had been wrong once, but that didn’t mean every prediction that followed would be

wrong too.

The real danger was that the System had not acted yet.

If it could directly rewrite my daughter’s judgment, could anything I had done stop it?

The accusations around me grew louder, but I ignored them and waited for my daughter to speak for herself.

Then she slipped her arm through mine.

She faced the crowd and raised her voice. “You’ve got it wrong: My mother isn’t trying to break us up.”

“I don’t even know him. He barged into the room and insisted I was his girlfriend!”

The crowd fell silent.

Someone still gave a self-important scoff.

“Why would anyone randomly claim a stranger was his girlfriend? The girl is obviously torn. Now that

things have gotten this far, she has to choose between defending her boyfriend and defending her mother.”

“She’s just too obedient to her mother. She chose her mother without realizing how badly she’d hurt her

boyfriend.”

My daughter shouted, “I really don’t know him!”

The police arrived the moment she finished speaking.

I immediately asked the staff to pull the security footage from the room.

Bystanders could watch evidence and still refuse to admit they were wrong, but a camera didn’t lie. It

showed exactly who had made the first move.

The police cared about facts.

As the video began to play, all the color slowly drained from Adrian’s face.

The room had originally held only my daughter and five friends.

One by one, her friends left. My daughter was the last to stand. She had picked up her bag and was about to pay the bill when Adrian suddenly entered.

She immediately went on guard.

The first thing she asked him was, “Who are you?”

Adrian smiled. “Avery, I’m the fiancé you were promised to as a child. Didn’t your mother tell you?”

My daughter froze.

“You’re gorgeous. No wonder you’re one of the women destined for me. Your waist looks so soft. Let me

touch it.”

My daughter screamed and backed away.

Adrian immediately turned off the lights and locked the door.

A second later came the sound of a glass soda bottle shattering and Adrian screaming.

When the footage ended, the room went dead silent. Everyone who had defended Adrian shut their mouths.

Even the comment feed had nothing but question marks.

“???”

“Wait, I missed this part. How did things turn out like this?”

“The male lead really went too far. He sexually harassed her the moment he walked in. He has no concept of

boundaries.”

“What do you know? This is Adrian’s world. Everything is supposed to revolve around him. Why would he

need boundaries in his own world?”

“But this world still has rules. If the male lead ignores the rules and disrespects people, are we still supposed

to support him?”

A moment later, the System deleted that comment.

The person removed was the one who had criticized Adrian.

I almost laughed.

They couldn’t even tolerate the truth. They truly had no limits.

The comment feed could scream all it wanted without touching reality, but the people standing around us had watched the footage with their own eyes.

After seeing it, every one of them looked ready to spit in Adrian’s face.

“He’s human garbage. She told him she didn’t know him, and he still locked the door and turned off the

lights. That’s a crime!”

“He looks respectable, but he’s a monster underneath!”

“Arrest him. Someone like that can’t be allowed to keep hurting people!”

The accusations finally drove Adrian into a panic.

But when he looked at me he still tried to act tough. “Natalie, I’m warning you. If you take this any further, you’ll regret it.”

I smiled.

“I deal with what happens today. I don’t wait for tomorrow.”

“What Adrian did to my daughter gives the police more than enough reason to investigate and arrest him. As for his injury, my daughter caused it while defending herself.”

“She acted in lawful self-defense.”

“I’m formally pressing charges. You have probable cause to arrest Adrían.”
