The comment feed could be wrong.

I had just taken out my phone to call 911 wheft Adrian pushed himself off the couch, one hand pressed to his

head.

He was undeniably handsome, but the moment he opened his mouth, he became every bit as repulsive as his

mother.

“You’re Avery’s mother, Natalie?”

“Didn’t you tell Avery that we were promised to each other as children? I came here to get to know her, and she smashed a bottle over my head. What the hell was that supposed to mean?”

I stared him down and fired back.

“My daughter has no engagement with you.”

“Your mother tried to force that arrangement on us years ago. I saw what kind of person she was and knew

any child she raised couldn’t be much better.”

“Clearly, I was right to refuse.”

“What do you mean? Who gave you the right to insult me?” Adrian shouted.

I stared at him coldly. “You’re exactly like your mother. You act deranged the moment you meet someone,

then get offended when they call you out?”

Adrian gritted his teeth.

“Fine. Fine.”

“I gave you a chance, and you threw it away. Once you find out who I really am, you’ll regret this.”

He turned to leave.

I stepped in front of him.

“Scared now? Planning to kneel and apologize?” Adrian lifted an eyebrow, looking so arrogant I wanted to

hit him myself.

I pulled out my phone and called 911 right in front of him.

Adrian panicked instantly. “What… what are you doing?”

“My daughter injured your head, so we’re going to handle this properly. Otherwise, you might leave and try to extort money from us later.”

“But my daughter doesn’t hurt people without reason. We’ll let the police investigate and show everyone

exactly what happened ”

“That way, you won’t get the chance to twist the truth later.”

“You can’t call the police” Adrian lunged for my phone.

My daughter stepped between us, giving me enough time to complete the call

Adrian lost it. “Natalie, are you insane? Who said I wanted to become your enemy? I’m going to marry your daughter. What kind of mother-in-law calls the cops on her future son-in-law?” ·

His shouting immediately drew a crowd.

Every eye turned toward us.

People started whispering.

“A mother-in-law calling the police on her son-in-law? She must really hate that young man.

“I think the mother is too controlling. He’s handsome and obviously going places. Her daughter is standing right beside him too, so they clearly have feelings for each other. She’d better be careful, or her daughter might cut her off one day.”

“Exactly. Avery and Natalie may be standing together now.

“But Adrian’s System has fully activated. His career and romance routes are advancing at the same time. With the System’s help, it’ll only take 100 days for Avery to lose all judgment.”

“When that happens, she’ll cut ties with her mother.”
