The Comments Said He Never Wanted Me—So Why Did Divorce Make Him Snap? Chapter 05

It wasn’t the first time Edmond had brought the two of them here, clearly.

The moment they walked in, the sales reps swarmed over.

Some offered coffee, while others brought out clothes.

The woman and Luca both slipped into matching dinosaur-print tops, sharing an identical smile in

front of the mirror.

“These family outfits look so good on you two! Mr. Harrington can wear the black shirt for dads.

Anyone can tell who runs the house!”

The woman waved her hands in panic.

Yet Edmond burst out laughing.

So… an iceberg like Edmond actually knew how to smile.

In eight years of marriage, I had never seen it once.

But his smile vanished the second his eyes landed on me.

Kayden and I happened to be wearing matching colors.

And the kid in my arms was wearing a parent-child set with me.

Edmond stared at our clothes, his brow furrowing.

I picked up the kid and turned to leave.

Luca noticed us too, turning around as his face completely changed.

Moments later, the shop manager walked up to me.

“I’m so sorry, ma’am, but we are closing early today.”

“It’s only three in the afternoon. You don’t usually close this early,” Kayden said.

The manager smiled politely.

“A VIP customer is shopping today, so we are closing the store for a private reception. As compensation, here is a twenty-thousand-dollar gift voucher for your next visit.”

I looked back.

Edmond sat on the sofa in the VIP lounge, staring over with icy eyes.

(This is the kind of possessive indulgence I live for!]

[He kicked this cheating pair out just to keep the bitch from making a scene in front of our baby girl! Love it!]

[God, please give me a man like Edmond!]

“You can’t…”

Kayden tried to argue, but I snatched the voucher right out of the manager’s hand.

I pulled Kayden along and walked out.

Why bother wasting breath on a man who would end up killing me later?

If anything, let him hate me more so we could get a divorce smoothly.

I didn’t head home until three days later.

To my surprise, Edmond wasn’t working late at the office.

The second I stepped into the bedroom, I saw him sitting on the edge of the bed.

His shirt hung open. His wounds had already healed, revealing crisp, perfectly sculpted lines.

In the past, I would’ve ordered him to handcuff himself right away.

Instead, I turned and headed straight for the bathroom.

A hand grabbed me from behind.

I was pinned against the bed.

Rapid, desperate kisses landed on my lips, neck, and collarbone.

“What are you doing!”

I slapped his face hard.

He panted softly, staring down at me.

[Ugh, this is so frustrating! Edmond has to sacrifice himself to keep this villainess from running to his parents!]

bet my life this villainess would complain about our baby girl to his parents so they’d punish our baby girl!]

[Poor guy. The timing isn’t right, so he has no choice but to keep her calm for now.]

So that was it.

He was afraid I’d use his parents against his true love.

“You don’t need to do this, Edmond.” I looked at him coldly. “We’re done. Go ahead and be with her

I don’t care.”

Edmond stared at me, his voice slightly raspy.

“You don’t want me anymore?”
