The Blind Luna’s Awakening Chapter 06

The Blind Luna’s Awakening Chapter 06

On the other side, I was lying in a hospital bed with a bandage covering my eyes.

The healer said the surgery had been very successful. As long as I recovered properly, I would be able to see like an ordinary person again.

When I woke up, I finally felt the discomfort in my eyes.

Stinging pain, light sensitivity, I couldn’t even open them properly. My whole body felt uncomfortable, but I wasn’t sad.

Compared to living in darkness for two years, what was this little pain?

A week later, my vision had fully recovered. Mia was becoming more and more excited too, although she still refused to talk to me.

Not wanting to join a new pack, I rented an apartment in Sicily and planned to start a new life there.

I picked up my paintbrush again and started painting.

After two years without touching it, I was a little rusty, but my love for painting had not faded at all.

During the day, I taught children in a studio.

At night, I painted whatever I saw by the river, in the square, and across the fields.

This kind of free and bright life had always belonged to me. Calvin and Zoe had simply stolen it through their selfishness.

The hospital in Sicily was the only place I could find that agreed to perform the surgery immediately.

The nearby pack hospitals had all been ordered by Calvin not to perform any operation on my eyes.

For checkups, I could use a false identity, but for surgery, I had to register under my real name. That would definitely notify Calvin.

I didn’t know how far Calvin would go for Zoe. I was afraid that once he found out, I would completely lose my chance to restore my sight and reconnect with my wolf.

I didn’t dare gamble. So I had to hide it from Calvin and come to Sicily for the surgery.

One day, I was painting in the square when I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

For a moment, I thought I was mistaken and didn’t pay attention.

Until the person walked right up to me and softly called my name.

“Paige? You can see again?”

“I finally found you. Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?”

“I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want to break our mate bond.”

“Paige, can we sit down and talk properly?”

His eyes were red. His clothes looked like they hadn’t been changed in days, full of wrinkles. His hair had grown long enough to fall over his eyes.

I looked at him coldly.

“There’s nothing left for us to talk about. What’s done is done. No explanation can change anything.”

“Your pack raised me for ten years. You took my eyes. That’s enough to repay the debt.”

“Now that I’m leaving on my own, you can be with Zoe. It’s better for everyone.”

I picked up my drawing board and the bucket of water, ready to leave.

He stepped in front of me, his eyes full of pleading.

“No, Paige. I know I was wrong. Back then I thought Zoe was the one I loved, so I did something so ridiculous.”

“These past two years, haven’t we been good together? You love me. I can feel it. Let’s start over, okay?”

“But now I love you. You can hit me, you can yell at me, just don’t leave me.”

His words made me laugh in anger.

“Calvin, do you have any shame left?”

“You made me blind, and you stopped me from getting treatment. How can you stand there and say you love me?”

“You made my wolf stop talking to me, watching it wither right in front of me. Do you know how lonely and hopeless that felt?”

I tried to walk around him, but Calvin suddenly dropped to his knees.

Tears fell down his face.

“I admit I stopped you from treating your eyes at first because I was afraid you would find out the truth and hurt Zoe.”

“But later I fell in love with you. I was scared you would leave me if you knew the truth. I was selfish. I just wanted to keep you by my side.”

“Paige, I know I was wrong. I will never see Zoe again. I promise, from now on it will only be you and me.”

I picked up my phone and opened the news in front of him.

“Look. Zoe has already broken her mate bond.”

“You can tell the whole world you love her now.”
