The Blind Luna’s Awakening Chapter 02

The Blind Luna’s Awakening Chapter 02

There was another photo under the news post.

I guessed Calvin must have been smiling very happily in that picture.

Walking to the end of the second-floor hallway, I stopped in front of a door. This was Calvin’s private collection room.

He often spent entire days inside. Because I couldn’t see, he had never guarded against me.

I pushed the door open and lifted my phone, taking photos of the entire room from start to finish.

Then I uploaded them online and asked netizens what was in the pictures. Comments quickly appeared under the post.

“Isn’t this the work of painter Zoe Foster? Looks like you’re a hardcore fan of Zoe Foster.”

“If you ask me, aside from her award-winning pieces, the rest of Zoe’s paintings don’t even feel like they were done by the same person. They’re not really worth collecting.”

“There are so many paintings. I counted them, there are 120 in total.”

I then searched Zoe’s information online.

Over the past two years, she had won numerous domestic and international awards. On every day she received an award, Calvin was there in person to congratulate her.

To boost Zoe’s reputation, Calvin spared no expense, buying her artworks at sky-high prices. He even helped resolve crises involving Zoe’s mate’s pack by providing financial support.

He truly loved Zoe to the point of perfection, unwilling to let her suffer even a little, willingly helping his own rival.

His love for Zoe was pure and absolute.

I was so “touched” that my heart trembled. Even the wolf inside me, who no longer spoke to me, let out a faint whimper.

The next morning, I went to three different pack hospitals to check my eyes. The conclusion was the same in all of them: a cornea transplant could give me a high chance of restoring my sight.

Ironically, all three hospitals were places Calvin had once brought me to before. Back then, every healer had said my condition was incurable.

Now I was certain of it. Calvin had never wanted me to recover my sight.

When I walked out of the hospital, I could not hold it in anymore. I cried. Grievance, confusion, and pain surged over me like a flood.

“Mia, are you there?” I called out to my wolf, but there was no response, just like the past two years.

“Can you hear me?” I said to myself. “We have to leave. Leave our mate. I swear I will get my sight back. When that happens, you’ll come back too, and we’ll run together in the forest again, okay?”

Mia said nothing, but I could feel her longing.

Two years of deception. I had had enough.

After calming myself down, I went to the pack elders and obtained two bond-breaking deals.

I put the deals into my bag and stood by the roadside waiting for a ride.

A short while later, a car stopped in front of me. The window rolled down.

“Paige, why are you here alone? I was just heading to Calvin’s Alpha office. Get in, I’ll take you with me.”

It was Zoe’s voice.

Before I could refuse, she got out, grabbed my arm, and pulled me into the car.

Along the way, she kept humiliating me.

“Back then, the teacher said in front of the whole class that you would become a great painter. What a shame. Life is unpredictable. Now you can’t even see, how are you supposed to paint?”

“Honestly, you should thank me. If I hadn’t rejected Calvin, you wouldn’t have had the chance to become his Luna. With your condition, you probably couldn’t even survive on your own.”

I clenched my hands tightly on my lap.

Zoe had stolen my eyes, made my wolf wither day by day, and ruined my entire life, yet she could still say such shameless things.

She and Calvin really were made for each other.

After getting out of the car, I had just stepped into the pack hall when I heard the members whispering around me.

“So that’s Alpha Calvin’s Luna? Standing next to Zoe like that… the contrast is heartbreaking. One is a blind Luna with a cane, the other a million-dollar painter.”

“No wonder Alpha Calvin always brings Zoe to Alpha Balls. Who would want to bring a blind mate to an event?”

“But I heard Alpha Calvin and Luna Paige grew up together. Maybe he doesn’t bring her out because he’s protecting her.”

In the elevator, Zoe suddenly laughed.

“Paige, you’re really pitiful. I almost feel sorry for you.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll help you see the world properly.”

The long-suppressed anger exploded in an instant. I threw away my cane and raised my hand to slap her.

She dodged easily, but the moment the elevator doors opened, she let out a piercing scream.

“Paige, why did you hit me?”

In the next second, someone rushed in, knocking me to the ground and helping Zoe up.

Calvin’s voice was filled with anger.

“Paige, what are you doing to Zoe?”

“She just ran into you on the road and kindly brought you back to the pack. What is wrong with you?”
