The Alpha Who Killed Me Now Calls Me Mother Chapter 06 The Heir He Could Never Have

Before a full day had passed, every maid who had mocked me was expelled from Mooncrest Court. Craig personally hired an entirely new staff to replace them.

In the private lounge of an exclusive jewelry store, I studied my reflection. Gold and diamonds covered me, and the entire set was valued at over 100 million moon crowns. A rare pink diamond, which Craig had personally won at a premier auction, rested at the center of the necklace.

In my last life, Ashton had not even been willing to buy me a cheap silver chain from a street vendor after we married.

Before I could dwell on that memory, Ashton appeared and glared at me. “You really have no shame. You slept with my father just to become Luna.”

1 brushed a fingertip over the unhealed scar on my cheek and smiled. “At least he lasts longer than you do.”

Rage flooded his face. “What did you say? This is all some stunt to get my attention, isn’t it. Evelyn? Stop dreaming. I would never want a woman like you.”

I gave him a sidelong glance.

“Why would I want your attention? Son, if no one ever taught you to respect your elders, I will be happy to teach you myself.”

His features twisted. “You think marrying my father means you’re safe? He’ll be dead in battle within two years. He can’t produce another heir, either. I will still become Alpha King in the end. Beg me now, and I might leave you one way out.”

I answered coolly, “Then you had better start praying, idiot. Guards, escort the Alpha out.”

“Fine. We’ll see who is still laughing at the end.” Ashton kicked the store wall and stormed away without looking back.

I rolled my eyes at his arrogance. Once Craig intervened, the mate bond Ashton had expected was canceled outright.

Bitter and furious, Ashton decided to produce an heir and use the pack elders to force Craig from the throne. Once he became Alpha King, he believed no one would be able to oppose him.

He began dragging Jane from one hospital to another for test after test.

The results never gave him what he wanted.

Soon he was nearly frantic, searching for any way to prove his virility. Whenever Jane emerged from his room, she was either limping with one hand against the wall or carrying dark shadows beneath her eyes.

Without me chasing him, Ashton’s cheap display of undying love for Jane could not survive. He had never loved the real woman. He loved the fragile, obedient mask she wore, and that mask only looked convincing beside the scheming villain he had made me out to be.

Before long, Jane sensed that something was wrong. One night, I heard them arguing from an entire floor

way.

“Ashton, should we go back to the hospital for another examination?” she asked.

He roared, “Go wherever you want. Take a hundred tests. The problem is obviously you.”

She softened her voice. “Even if the problem is mine, finding it early will make it easier to treat.

“Couldn’t you come with me?”

“Stay away from me!” Ashton seized Jane by the hair and yanked her to the floor.

I leaned against the doorframe and watched through the narrow opening.

She had struck his rawest nerve. The Blackwood royal bloodline had ruled Mooncrest Realm for six generations, and every Alpha King seemed cursed to father only one child.

Ashton had once been certain of inheriting because Craig had no other children. He could no longer be sure. With memories of our previous life, he knew there was something unusual about my fertility. I had given him twins.

If I could bear two of his children, I could do the same for Craig.

Once Ashton understood that, he became desperate. He began sleeping with young she-wolves again and again, hoping one of them would conceive.

He even hired intermediaries to seek out women with the bodies he considered ideal for bearing his child. Someone documented everything and sent every photograph and video to Jane.

The evidence shattered her.

One day, Ashton was drinking with a group of Betas when Jane barged into the room.

Sobbing, she rushed at him and smashed his glass against the floor. “You cheated on me, you bastard!”

His expression darkened as he surged to his feet.

“Get out. Stop humiliating me.” Soldiers tried to drag her away, but she clung to the table. “The Healer says you have an Alpha fertility disorder. No matter how many women you sleep with, you may never father a child!”

The air froze.

Every person at the table fell silent. The Betas around Ashton exchanged uncomfortable looks.

Pity, shock, and the first hint of doubt colored their faces.

As future Alpha King, Ashton expected their loyalty. But if he could not give his Luna an heir, they had to question his right to rule.

watched the livestream sent by an informant on my payroll with a satisfied smile.

Aston’s face drained white. He looked at Jane as if he might kill her.

“Who do you think you are, screaming this garbage in front of everyone? You’re nothing but a toy I got tired of. Now get out.”

Jane stood crying. “I… I was only afraid of losing you. Please don’t be angry, Ashton.”

He ignored her. Meanwhile, Craig and I were dining in the royal garden.

Candlelight moved across our table. I smiled and handed him an ultrasound report. “Darling, I had an examination today.”
