The Alpha Let Her Humiliate Me Every Full Moon Chapter 07

Dorian’s frantic momentum vanished the moment he heard those words.

His knees weakened, and he caught himself against the wall. His hands shook where they pressed against the cold stone, and his bloodshot eyes moved aimlessly around the hall.

“How?” he asked. “She never said anything. Was the transfer mandatory?”

The transfer officer shook his head.

“No. She had been considering the offer for five days. She initially turned it down but accepted shortly before sunrise this morning.”

Dorian stared at him.

“She had already arranged her transport and completed the necessary paperwork,” the officer continued. “This wasn’t another full-moon prank. I’ve already filed all of her transfer documents, and her supervisor gave her the day off to prepare.”

Dorian could no longer pretend that Elara had been bluffing. She had meant every word and left without looking back.

His legs gave way, and he slid down the wall as tears ran down his face.

He had been certain Elara needed him, but now he understood that he was the one who could not bear losing her.

He had to follow her and try to repair the damage he had caused.

Dorian immediately arranged transport to Dawnhaven territory.

Before leaving, he placed his Beta in temporary command and notified the Shadowcliff council that he was taking emergency leave.

Just before his departure, one of his pack friends called and demanded that he return because Delilah was falling apart.

When the man dismissed Elará as dramatic, Dorian cut him off. “I don’t want to hear another word against her. As for Delilah, I’m done protecting her. You can keep coddling her, but count me out.”

He ended the call and headed for the transport terminal.

Because the Dawnhaven transfer office hadn’t finished preparing my assigned den, I checked into a motel for the night.

I had barely finished checking in when Elder Gareth called to say that Dorian had contacted his

office about my transfer.

He gently asked what had happened between us.

I told him only that we’d broken up.

He must have heard the exhaustion in my voice because he didn’t press for details. He offered a few

kind words before hanging up.

I assumed Dorian might try to find me eventually.

I hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly.

I had just returned from the local pack clinic after having my facial bandages changed when I saw him near the motel entrance.

His clothes were wrinkled, his hair disheveled, and his usually steady gaze unguarded.

“Elara,” he said hoarsely. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

His sudden caution drew a bitter laugh from me.

“Because we broke up. I didn’t owe you anything.”

I tried to walk past him, but he clamped a hand around my wrist.

“I never agreed to that!” he said. “I won’t accept it!”

He stumbled over his next words.

“I thought-”

I cut him off.

“You thought I was pulling another full-moon prank? Or that I was simply having a meltdown?”

His grip loosened slightly.

“Either way, you always saw me as weak and easy to handle. That’s why you never cared how I felt, right?”

Dorian opened his mouth, but panic seemed to steal the words. “No, I… I just…”

For years,

he had relied on the same excuses: *I just… I didn’t mean to. I didn’t know.*

Every time I got upset, he brushed me off with empty words.

I had convinced myself that his careless apologies were enough as long as he truly cared about me.

But after learning that our relationship had begun as a bet, every excuse sounded hollow and made our six years together feel like a lie.

I tore my wrist from his grip and stepped back.

“It’s over, Dorian.”

My voice held none of the anger he had expected because I had already exhausted every emotion I once felt for him.

“The moment I learned how this relationship really began, your explanations, your feelings, and your apologies became meaningless noise.”

His face crumpled.

“The only thing you need to remember is that I ended our relationship last night.”
