The Alpha Let Her Humiliate Me Every Full Moon Chapter 06

For a moment, every sound around Dorian seemed to disappear.

The color vanished from his face.

“She left? How? Are you sure?” He stared at the healer in disbelief. “She only just regained

consciousness. You must have mistaken someone else for her.”

The healer glanced at the empty treatment bed, then gave him an incredulous look.

“There was no mistake. It was Elara. How did you not know your own mate had left? Did the two of you fight? She came back earlier with tears all over her face.”

She gathered her supplies and walked away.

His knees weakened as he fumbled for his phone and called Elara again and again.

By the tenth attempt, every call had either gone to voicemail or rung until it disconnected.

Desperate, he took Delilah’s phone and called Elara from her number.

The call went unanswered again.

He handed Delilah’s phone back, reopened his own message thread with Elara, and typed a frantic

apology.

A second later, a system notification appeared.

[Message not delivered.]

Dorian stared at the notification, finally understanding that he might have destroyed their relationship beyond repair.

He turned to Delilah, and the guilt on her face confirmed his worst suspicion.

“You saw her earlier, didn’t you?”

Delilah tried to look innocent, but a brief flash of satisfaction crossed her face before she hid it.

As usual, she pretended not to understand what he meant.

“I had no idea it was her! I thought she was some female wearing similar clothes who didn’t want to

be seen.”

She lifted both hands defensively.

“I swear I didn’t recognize her, so I didn’t say anything. I didn’t mean-‘

This time, Dorian didn’t dismiss her excuse.

“She heard everything,” he said, pacing across the room. “I told you never to bring that up where

anyone could hear us. Now she knows, and she’ll never forgive me.”

Delilah placed a hand on his shoulder and arranged her features into an expression of concern.

“Oh, please. Find her and say you knew she was listening, so the story was part of the prank. You’ve

done this before, and she never stays angry for long.”

Her dismissal only made his panic worse.

He remembered Elara telling him repeatedly that they were finished and that she would never complete the mate bond with him.

His chest tightened until every breath hurt.

He grabbed his jacket and headed for the door.

Delilah caught his sleeve and pulled him back.

“Hey, where are you going?”

Tears gathered in Dorian’s eyes.

“To find her. I have to fix this.”

Delilah rolled her eyes. “Is it really that serious? You’re being so

Dorian finally lost his temper. The thought of facing the betrayal in Elara’s eyes terrified him; he might truly have lost her forever.

“Yes, it is that serious!” he shouted, “No more pranks, and not another cruel word about her from you or anyone else.”

He tore his sleeve from Delilah’s grip. “She’s the mate I want to spend my life with. If you care about me at all, you’ll start treating her right now.”

Then he ran out.

Whenever Elara was upset and had nowhere else to go, she threw herself into pack duties.

Dorian raced toward the Shadowcliff administrative compound, ignoring the guards who called

after him.

Breathing hard, he burst into the administrative hall and stopped the first staff member he saw, a man wearing the insignia of the transfer office.

“You work with Elara, right? Is she here?”

The man gave him a startled look.

“Alpha, you didn’t know? Elara accepted a transfer to Dawnhaven territory this morning.territory this morning.”

Dorian stopped breathing.

“What?”

“Her shuttle was scheduled to leave earlier, so she’s probably already gone.territory this morning.

The man hesitated.

“She didn’t tell you?”
