Taming the Stubborn Alpha: His Tears Were Fake, But His Love Was Real Chapter 01

Taming the Stubborn Alpha: His Tears Were Fake, But His Love Was Real Chapter 01

I was matched with a werewolf by the Bureau of Supernatural Control, with a perfect match rating.

The problem was, he didn’t like me.

After getting the cold shoulder for the hundredth time, I decided to stop playing nice.

If he wouldn’t come willingly, I’d take what I wanted.

I locked him to the bed every night and forced him to submit.

That went on until one night. I had him pinned in the bathtub.

Then a stream of floating comments suddenly appeared in front of me.

[He acts like he’s being forced, but you just know he’s secretly loving every second of it!]

[Just admit it, man. You’ve been into her since month two.]

[He’s so stubborn. He never backs down.]

[Outwardly, ‘You can have my body but never my heart.’ Inwardly, ‘Babe could slap me and I’d thank her for the breeze.’]

When I saw the comments, I was straddling Evander Thornton’s waist.

The man beneath me was still in his partially shifted form, a wolf tail visible behind him.

After I teased him earlier, his skin flushed pink, and his ears turned bright red.

Beneath his eyes, faint crimson markings had surfaced, evidence of his slipping control.

His eyes shimmered with moisture. He bit down hard on his lower lip as a tear slid from the corner of his eye and fell onto the bathroom floor.

He looked every bit like a helpless, virtuous puppy being taken by force.

That was, if I hadn’t seen those comments.

According to them, Evander and I were the main characters in a novel.

He refused to admit how he felt. What should have been a sweet romance turned into a constant push and pull, like an emotional tug-of-war.

It all ended with both of us dead. A total tragedy.

My gaze drifted to his lips, all flushed and soft when I kissed them.

So soft there, yet so unyielding when he spoke.

Evander had no idea what I was thinking. He just kept crying, tears falling onto the floor and into the bathwater.

“Cressida!” he choked out. “Forcing me won’t change anything.”

“You can take my body, but you’ll never have my heart!”

“I could never fall for such a shameless woman!”

His voice was still firm despite the tremor in it, his tone thick with humiliation and anger.

I let out a soft, wicked laugh and leaned down, my breath brushing against his ear.

My fingers grazed it lightly.

His wolf ears fully emerged, soft and furred, trembling with each uneven breath. I traced along the edge with a teasing touch.

“What about here?” I murmured. “Do you not like this either?”

“Mm…” A sound escaped him before he could stop it, his voice turning hoarse.

Still, he refused to yield.

“Don’t flatter yourself. It’s just a normal reaction. Doesn’t mean a thing.”

“Is that so?” I smiled, my other hand sliding slowly from his waist up along his abdomen until it reached his throat.

I leaned closer and let my breath brush against his marking gland.

The moment my hand settled there, his body trembled uncontrollably.

The corners of his eyes turned red as tears fell faster. A helpless sound broke from his lips.

His wolf tail jerked upward, splashing water, every inch of it beaded with droplets.

“And what about here?” I breathed. “You don’t like this either?”

“I heard this is your marking gland. If someone touches it, you’ll…”

“Shut up!” Evander could barely get the words out.

Then he lifted an arm to cover his eyes, looking utterly helpless.

Only those wolf ears betrayed him. Even the tips had flushed red, twitching before drooping down unconsciously, almost like a puppy.

…God, he was adorable.

Normally, I would’ve devoured him on the spot.

But today, I only curled my lips into a faint smile, flipped off of him, and stepped out of the bathtub under his stunned gaze.

“All right,” I said lightly. “If you don’t like it, I’ll stop. I won’t force you again. Promise.”

I even gave him a polite smile.

Evander still looked dazed, tears clinging to the corners of his eyes, lips slightly parted. He looked thoroughly ravaged.

But I didn’t spare him another glance.

I turned and walked out of the bathroom, even thoughtfully closing the door behind me.

The comments seemed just as stunned.

[Why’d she stop? I wasn’t done watching!]

[He’s about to blow, and she just quits on him?]

[No, wait! I want to see what he looks like fully human! Satisfy my curiosity!]

[Did the female lead have a change of heart?]

A change of heart? Not a chance.

What I wanted was simple. I was going to make Evander walk right into my trap. And he was going to do it willingly.

And I was going to make him admit it himself. That he liked me. All along.
