Spring, Summer, Winter, I Am The Forgotten Autumn Chapter 05

Spring, Summer, Winter, I Am The Forgotten Autumn Chapter 05

The taxi drove through Mistbridge City’s damp morning fog, heading north toward Laurel Hill.

Two hours later, Hyperion University’s ancient blackstone buildings rose into view.

I pulled my suitcase along and went straight to the admissions office of the Alpha Leadership Academy.

“Hello. I’m Autumn Grey, an incoming freshman.”

I handed my acceptance letter, academic transcripts, and Wolf Trial records to Professor William behind the

desk.

He pushed up his glasses and studied my documents carefully. His eyes lit up when he saw my scores in

tactical reasoning and coordinated combat.

“S-Rank Wolf Trial, near-perfect tactical simulations. You’re arriving three weeks ahead of official move-in.”

“I want to settle into campus early and get a head start on training and research projects. Is early enrollment

possible?”

“Absolutely.”

Professor William approved my request on the spot and contacted housing services immediately.

Ten minutes later, a set of brass keys landed in my palm.

“This is an empty temporary apartment in the graduate wing. It’s a short walk from the library and Tactical

Research Tower.”

He smiled. “Hyperion always welcomes people with real ability.”

The moment I pushed open the apartment door, I let out a long sigh of relief.

The space wasn’t large, but it came with a private bathroom and a wall of windows overlooking campus grounds.

No piles of shopping bags cluttered the living room. No sisters fighting over speakers. No constant orders shouted at me by Marina.

I set my acceptance letter neatly on the center of my desk. Autumn’s life truly began here.

Over the following days, I completed my campus ID registration and wolf-spirit stability assessments.

Then I sought out Professor William. “I read your team is compiling border wolf pack tactical datasets. I can offer assistance.”

He looked faintly surprised and handed me a messy packet of raw data.

It belonged to an old research project studying multi-pack skirmishes. Data points tracking scent signals, heart rates, and movement patterns from different wolf packs were disorganized; the project had been

shelved for more than half a year.

In a single afternoon, I created new classification frameworks and organized the data into charts ready for simulation modeling.

I also identified a critical oversight in the original models: they ignored how wolf-spirits shift emotionally under extreme pressure. That was exactly why so many border patrol units lost control mid-operation.

Professor William stared at my analysis for a long time, then smiled in approval. “Goddess above, Grey. You

haven’t just sorted data. You’ve spotted something every other researcher missed.”

He formally added me to the combat research team.

As I walked out of the research tower, evening bells echoed from the Luna Auditorium. For the very first time,

I understood what it felt like to be truly seen.

Here, I was not the disposable fourth child everyone forgot. I was Autumn. Someone who earned her place

through her own strength.

I bought a Northern Territory SIM card and tucked away my old phone with its Silverbay number.

Back home in Silverbay City, the Grey family had returned in high spirits.

April showed off her new designer bags. Summer edited travel footage for social media. Winter wore

Northern-style outerwear, recounting the history of the Luna Belltower to relatives. My parents soaked up

praise for sending three daughters to Silverbay University all at once.

A full week slipped by. Not a single person realized the fourth daughter who’d left home with them never

boarded the flight back.

Late that night, I’d just returned to my apartment from the library when my old phone began vibrating frantically.

A name I hadn’t expected lit up the screen: Marina.
