Sold by My Mate, Claimed by Another Alpha Chapter 05

The madam still wasn’t satisfied.

She ordered her people to carry me out onto an open-air stage and let the city’s elite bid in public.

I lay weakly against the sofa on the platform. My gauzy dress was slit scandalously high, leaving my pale legs on display for every filthy thought in the crowd.

On the commercial tower behind me, a massive billboard carried my image, while the numbers under it kept climbing higher and higher.

As if I sensed something, I lifted my eyes.

Through the frenzy of bodies, my gaze collided with the eyes of two men in a Bentley, both of them wearing ceremonial boutonnieres.

One careless glance at me was all it took to turn Cassian’s and Rafael’s eyes blood-red.

The girl onstage wore a seductive mask, and on her bare shoulder was a tattoo of a wolf holding a vivid rose in its jaws.

It was meant to symbolize love that would never change.

They both had the same rose on their shoulders.

Back then, the she-wolf who’d always been terrified of pain had sat through the whole tattoo without a sound. When it was done, she’d looked up at them with red-rimmed eyes and clasped their hands.

“Rafael, Cassian, I want us to be together forever.”

The promise still rang in my ears.

But their hearts had already changed.

They stared at each other in disbelief.

“Is that… Emilia?”

A brilliant firework burst across the giant billboard on the Pack commercial tower.

Then the madam’s delighted voice boomed through the speakers.

“Congratulations to Alpha Xavier Monroe for winning the bid at three million dollars! Tonight, former champion figure skater Emilia Thornton will be yours for the night!”

Cassian’s and Rafael’s eyes nearly split with rage. Both of them shouted at the driver at the exact same time.

“Turn around! Go back to that club!”

Clara, sitting in another car, could only watch as the Bentley behind her broke away from the convoy and turned around.

She yelled after them, “Where are you going?”

But the two men who had always done whatever she wanted acted as if they couldn’t hear her at all. Neither of them looked back.

The second they got out of the car, Cassian and Rafael staggered toward me.

But Grimwood Pack’s guards stepped in front of them.

“By Alpha Christian’s order, today is Miss Emilia’s big day. No one is allowed to ruin it.”

Watching the two of them get blocked, I curled my lips into a bitter smile beneath the mask.

With the kind of methods Christian used, this whole spectacle was nothing but a way to humiliate Ashenfang Pack.

Rafael’s eyes had gone completely red. He grabbed one of the guards by the collar and shouted, “Miss Emilia? Which Emilia? Say it!”

“How dare you do this to her? She’s Ashenfang Pack’s Alpha heiress!”

Even Cassian, who usually never had a kind look for me, was furious.

“Didn’t we make it clear to Alpha Christian before that as long as Ashenfang Pack sent someone to apologize, that would be the end of it?”

“Isn’t this going too far?”

With the crowd roaring around me, I couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying.

All I could do was force my swollen eyes open and watch them gesturing wildly toward me on the stage, over and over again.

The crowd below kept hurling filth into the air. What little dignity I had left forced me to speak.

I looked at the woman who had sold me and begged.

“Please… make them leave. From now on, I’ll do whatever you say…”

“You don’t want to see a worthless corpse tonight…”

The madam let out a mocking laugh, gave me a slow, malicious once-over from head to toe, then turned and walked toward the guards.

At first, I thought she was going to drive them off.

Instead, she welcomed them in with a smile.

“My apologies, Alpha Xavier. These two gentlemen would like to join the bidding as well.”

“You know how auctions like this work. Highest bidder wins.”

Alpha Xavier sat in the front row, his face so dark it looked ready to drip.

Cassian ignored it completely.

“He just bid three million, right? Then I’ll offer five million.”

“No matter what, Emilia is still part of Ashenfang Pack. There’s no reason she should be bought by someone else.”

Xavier slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet.

“Cassian, don’t push your luck.”

The people in the crowd didn’t care in the slightest who was offering more.

They only kept staring at my exposed thighs and the curve of my chest, all of them silently hoping for a stronger gust of wind.

They wanted that thin layer of fabric lifted even higher.

Humiliated, I closed my eyes and waited to find out who my final buyer would be.

Then a wave of gasps rippled through the crowd.

I opened my eyes and saw Xavier raise one hand in a signal.

The whole place erupted.
