Sold by My Mate, Claimed by Another Alpha Chapter 01

The fake Alpha heiress of Ashenfang Pack, Clara Laurent, was violated.

My childhood sweetheart and my brother both swore I was the one responsible.

One abandoned the mate bond he had promised me. The other forgot our mother’s dying wish.

They threw me into a Pack prison to teach me my place.

Day after day, I counted the days behind iron bars, waiting for their anger to fade and for them to take me home. On the six hundredth day of my imprisonment, they finally came for me.

But they only took me out so I could apologize to Christian Blake, the Alpha of Grimwood Pack, in Clara’s place.

I stumbled toward them and demanded an explanation, but they were too busy exchanging bond rings with Clara to spare me so much as a glance.

“What are you panicking for? You’re the real Alpha heiress of Ashenfang Pack. Grimwood Pack won’t do anything too serious to you.”

“Once that dangerous, brutal Alpha cools off, we’ll bring you back.”

Clara’s mistake was laid at Ashenfang Pack’s feet, and when disaster came crashing down on Ashenfang Pack, I was the one sent to pay for it.

That was the moment I gave up hope completely and went to Grimwood Pack alone to beg forgiveness.

On the day they were set to seal their mate bond with Clara, the largest nightclub in the pack territories splashed a headline poster across its main billboard:

[Virginity Auction: Former Champion Figure Skater Emilia Thornton.]

When their motorcade passed by, a single glance at that billboard was enough to make both their eyes turn blood-red, and they immediately ordered the driver to turn around.

…

…

“Emilia, Grimwood Pack is too powerful. We can’t afford to offend them. You’re Ashenfang Pack’s Alpha heiress. For the sake of your pack, you should go apologize in Clara’s place.”

Even after two years in prison had beaten the fight out of me, those words still tore through my chest like a blade.

“Why me? Clara’s the one who offended Grimwood Pack.”

My future Alpha mate, Cassian Drake, sat in the car with Clara in his arms, impatience written all over his face.

My Alpha brother, Rafael Laurent, stood a few steps away and tried to persuade me. “Emilia, stop being difficult. You owe Clara this.”

It felt as if a millstone had rolled over my heart, grinding the breath out of me.

Two years ago, they had both insisted I was the one who had caused Clara to be violated.

One had turned his back on the promise he’d made to me. “I can’t take someone as vicious as Emilia as my mate.”

The other had forgotten our mother’s last wish. “Clara’s already suffered enough. I only gave her half the love I had. Is that really enough to make you this jealous?”

They hadn’t cared that I was away competing at a figure-skating championship when it happened. Between the two of them, a few cold words were all it took to convict me.

They beat me half to death and threw me into prison.

The old pain crashed back so fast that I bit down on my cracked lips, but Cassian took my silence as defiance.

“What? Were we wrong? Who are you putting on that pathetic little victim act for?”

“Or are you still blaming us for throwing you into prison so you’d learn your place?”

He glared at me, clearly expecting me to lift my chin and curse him with the same stubborn pride I used to have.

But I only lowered my head numbly and let the cold wind cut through my thin clothes.

“I wouldn’t dare. Alpha Cassian and Alpha Rafael did the right thing. I already… know how to behave.”

My throat had gone so long without speaking it felt glued shut, and every scrape of my voice seemed to draw blood.

My distant, submissive tone startled them both.

Rafael followed my gaze downward and finally noticed my twisted, deformed leg.

Clara let out a little gasp and pointed at it. “Emilia’s leg looks disgusting. It’s like someone stuck the wrong parts onto an octopus.”

Cassian and Clara burst out laughing together. Only Rafael took two steps forward.

He reached out as if he wanted to help me into the car.

But I dropped into a crouch on instinct, hugging my head and trembling all over.

Cassian lost patience, yanked Rafael back into the car, and slammed the door in my face. Then his cold voice came from inside.

“Are you done yet? If she doesn’t want to get in, let her limp behind us all the way home.”

The car crawled forward as if it were mocking me, moving just slowly enough to force me to stumble after it.

My ruined leg dragged behind me, leaving a thin trail of blood on the ground.

It looked just like everything I had felt for them over the past two years, shattered and still aching.

When I was first thrown into the Pack prison, I thought they were only trying to teach me a lesson.

I was still the proud Alpha heiress of Ashenfang Pack then, still too stubborn to bow my head.

On the hundredth day, the thugs Clara sent broke my leg.

Terrified of losing my figure-skating career, I cried and begged for forgiveness, but no one came for me.

By the two hundredth day, my leg had rotted and twisted out of shape completely, and after trying to kill myself, I was hauled into the Pack infirmary again and again.

Still, not a single word came from them.

Six hundred days of hell finally taught me the truth.

I was no longer Ashenfang Pack’s Alpha heiress. I was nothing but a wandering ghost, with no family and no one left to love me.

The only thing still tethering me to that place was my mother’s ashes, still being kept at Ashenfang Pack.
