Sister’s Perfect Cheat Became Her Ruin Chapter 03

Sister’s Perfect Cheat Became Her Ruin Chapter 03 The Perfect Victim
I had barely made it down the steps of the testing hall when I heard a hurt, trembling voice.
“Dad, Helen just came out.”
I looked up.
Elsa was sobbing in Dad’s arms while Mom rubbed her back.
A crowd of low-rank wolves had gathered around them, craning their necks and clearly eager for a scene.
When I walked over, Elsa lifted her tear-streaked face and raised her voice so everyone could hear.
“Helen, I know you resent me because the elders caught you copying my answers on those practice exams, but you still should not have kicked over my deer-blood tonic this morning!
“I had to sit through two hours on an empty stomach. My hands were shaking during the final tactical essay, and I almost passed out in the testing hall.
“Even if you’re jealous that I might get into the Alpha Central Tribunal and change my bloodline, you can’t mess with my future like that!”
The crowd erupted as soon as she finished.
Several young wolves started shouting insults.
“Wait, that’s her? The girl who got caught cheating off Elsa? Wow. As if low ranking wolves don’t get looked down on enough already. She’s making the rest of us look even worse.”
“She’s seriously messed up. She knows she’s never getting anywhere, so now she’s trying to drag her own little sister down with her. She just can’t stand seeing the girl actually have a shot at a better life.”
[WTF, how is this side character that evil? She really knocked over the heroine’s tonic on purpose?]
[Send that psycho to the lowest quarry and make her haul rocks for life!]
[My heart breaks for baby Elsa! She hadn’t even eaten, but she still aced the exam. She’s truly a shining star for all low ranking wolves. I can’t stop crying, awooo!]
Dad’s face darkened. He shoved me hard, pointed at me, and shouted.
“I can’t believe I raised a worthless little piece of trash like you!
“You’re a hopeless loser who’ll spend your whole life at the bottom, and now you’re trying to ruin your sister’s future too?”
My mother frowned and joined in, her face full of disgust.
“Exactly! If what you did this morning hurts Elsa’s score and costs her the Bloodline Rite, you’re done taking the exam. You’ll go straight to the lowest quarry and work to pay for her to test again next year!”
They clung together like a loving family, while I stood across from them like an outsider who did not belong.
That morning, Elsa had kicked over her own deer-blood tonic and spilled it on herself to stage the whole thing. Then she blamed me.
I had been in a rush and did not pull out my recording crystal in time.
Who would believe someone with a “Cheating Warning” in her file?
I opened my mouth, but before I could speak, Dad waved me off impatiently as if he were chasing away a filthy stray dog.
“Get lost. I’m sick of looking at you. I’m taking Elsa to get something to eat so she doesn’t run out of energy again this afternoon.”
Elsa peeked out from Dad’s arms, winked at me, and flashed a sly, victorious smile. Not a trace remained of the pitiful girl she had been pretending to be moments earlier.
The three of them turned and left. Not one of them looked back at me.
Once the show was over, the other wolves drifted away.
Some spat at my feet and pointed as they left.
I didn’t get mad. My lips just curved into a cold little smile.

As soon as I entered the second theory and tactics exam that afternoon, I filled my head with flawed tactical reasoning.
I glanced at Elsa out of the corner of my eye. She was sitting up ahead, her pen flying across the page.
She did not even bother with her scratch slate.
She just kept copying, fast and confident, as if she knew every answer was right.
The rest of the exams followed the same pattern.
I waited until she turned in her test early and left, then quickly erased the false reasoning and replaced it with flawless answers.
After each exam, Elsa found a new way to complain about me to our parents.
Sometimes she claimed I had scared her with a look.
Other times she said I had coughed on purpose and ruined her focus.
Mom and Dad tore into me every single time.
I listened in silence and never bothered to defend myself.
I watched them fuss over Elsa like one big happy family and let out a cold laugh.
Go ahead. Keep yelling.
When the final rankings came out, I would receive the Alpha Central Tribunal’s appointment letter and transform my bloodline.
After that, this cruel family that had always favored Elsa, along with the relatives who had sucked me dry, would not be worth another glance.
