Silenced Omega Chapter 37

Silenced Omega Chapter 37

Laughter and bids rose from the crowd.

Laney closed her eyes, her fingers slowly clenching into fists.

She knew who had done this.

Preston.

He had actually thrown Genevieve into the Abyss.

But seeing it with her own eyes still made Laney’s stomach churn.

“Let’s go,” Archer said, sensing her distress.

Just as they were about to stand, all the lights in the venue went out.

“What’s going on?”

“Power outage?”

“Hey, don’t push!”

In the ensuing chaos, a hand clamped over Laney’s mouth from behind.

Another arm locked around her waist and dragged her backward.

Laney struggled frantically.

“Laney!” Archer’s voice was close behind her.

Then came the sound of several muffled gunshots.

In the darkness, the last thing Laney saw was Archer rushing toward her.

A blossom of red bloomed on his chest, and he slowly crumpled to the ground.

Laney’s vision went black, and she lost consciousness.

When she woke, she was lying on a soft bed.

The door opened.

Camden and Preston walked in.

They both wore expressions of such careful concern it was almost fawning.

“Laney, you’re awake?” Camden took a step forward. “Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”

Laney looked at him, her eyes devoid of emotion.

“Are you hungry?” Preston’s voice was gentle. “I had the kitchen make your favorite porridge—”

Laney reached under the pillow and pulled out a fruit knife.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she lunged at Preston.

“Preston!” Camden shouted.

But Preston didn’t move.

The knife sank deep into his abdomen. Blood immediately soaked his shirt.

He grunted but reached out to steady Laney’s hand.

“If this makes you feel better… keep going.”

Laney yanked the knife out and turned on Camden.

Camden didn’t flinch. He even took a step closer.

“Here.” He pointed to his own heart. “Stab here.”

The second stab.

The third.

The fourth.

Laney attacked them like a woman possessed.

And they let her, not dodging, not blocking.

Blood quickly soaked their shirts and dripped onto the expensive rug.

Finally, they could no longer stand and slid to the floor, leaving bloody streaks on the wall behind them.

A pool of blood spread out around them.

Laney stood over them, holding the knife, and started to laugh.
