She Wanted My Body for Three Days? Fine, She Can Keep It Forever! Chapter 07

Morning sunlight fell across my face. I reached for the curtains without thinking, but they were out

reach.

I opened my eyes. I was still in Chloe’s bed.

It was done.

My phone kept ringing as I took my time getting up, freshening up, and heading downstairs for a glass of water.

Then I finally answered.

“Nora! Why haven’t we switched back?”

I pretended to sound shocked.

“I know! Why haven’t we? Chloe, what did you do?”

She’d known me for years. She could hear how fake my surprise was.

“Nora, you’d better tell me what you did, or I’m going straight to my parents!”

I dropped the act.

“Go ahead. Let’s see who they believe. You think I don’t know what you’ve been doing? You can deal with the consequences yourself.”

I hung up.

Chloe’s parents had planned a family outing that day.

Normally, she would’ve complained that it was too much trouble and refused to go. I still grumbled enough to sound like her, but I went along with their plans.

Instead of refusing outright, I acted like I wanted to go but was too proud to admit it.

I wasn’t worried they’d suspect anything. They were so determined to see the best in their daughter that they simply thought they’d misunderstood her before. Now they wanted more family outings to bring us closer.

We drove to the mall, where I shopped with her parents and Ryan. By the time we headed home, we had plenty of shopping bags.

The car had barely stopped when someone came rushing toward us.

It was Chloe. She looked disheveled, her crooked collar exposing the hickeys on her neck.

Apparently, she’d been busy yesterday.

She grabbed my hand.

“Nora! You’ve ruined my life!”

Ryan pulled her away, then gently rubbed the red marks she’d left on my wrist before turning back

to her.

“Why are you grabbing my sister? Get out of here, or I’ll call security!”

“Ryan! I’m Chloe!”

Tears streamed down her face, but Ryan didn’t seem moved.

“Stop acting crazy. You think I don’t recognize my own sister?”

“Nora, you bitch! Give me my body back!”

When she tried to come at me again, Chloe’s parents called security and the police.

The guards restrained her, but she kept screaming.

“Mom! Dad! I’m Chloe! I’m your daughter!”

Her parents looked at her with disgust. Then her mother turned to me, worried.

“Chloe, I know she’s your friend, but you saw what happened. She could hurt someone. Please don’t be upset with us.”

She sounded so cautious that I took her hand.

“It’s okay, Mom. I know you’re looking out for me.”

Mom’s eyes filled with tears. Dad sounded just as moved.

“Our Chloe really has grown up.”

Touched by how much they cared, I smiled at them.

Other than Ethan, no one had ever cared for me like this.

I’d treat this family better than Chloe ever had.

“Nora, I know you’ve always envied my family, but nobody’s going to believe a ridiculous story like

at.”

“How dare you!”

Chloe couldn’t get another word out. As far as everyone else was concerned, she was “Noranow. No one would believe we’d swapped bodies.

The police arrived while she was still struggling and took her away from the guards.

Her curses faded into the distance as the police car drove away.
