She Wanted My Body for Three Days? Fine, She Can Keep It Forever! Chapter 08

At the police station, Chloe slumped on the floor, alone in a holding cell.

When the officers asked about her family, she kept naming the Whitmores. Eventually, they found

my parents in her phone’s contacts.

My parents arrived with Evan and took her home. Chloe was too dazed to realize what was happening until they locked her inside.

My parents had made a deal with a wealthy older man, promising him their daughter’s hand in marriage in exchange for a large payment.

She’d been gone for ten years, and they didn’t believe her promises to keep sending them money. They wanted a lump sum up front instead.

The man was sixty–five and had some twisted kinks.

Chloe listened through the door as my parents and brother discussed selling her to him. Desperate, she jumped out the window.

Luckily, the home I’d bought was only three stories high. The fall didn’t kill her, but she broke her

leg.

The noise brought all three of them to the window. When they saw her on the ground, they were

furious.

“You never stop causing trouble! How did you end up down there?”

With people outside, my mother held back from saying anything worse.

This time, they brought Chloe inside and tied her up.

They didn’t get her leg treated.

“It’s better this way. Now we don’t have to worry about you running off.”

My father took a long drag on his cigarette and blew the smoke straight into her face.

“You’re getting married. If you stop trying to pull something, we might go easier on you.”

Tears filled Chloe’s eyes.

She knew she was trapped.
