Janice came out of the shower and saw me sitting at her desk.

She looked horrified.

“Did you look at my tablet?”

I stood up and held it high.

“The evidence is right here. I should be asking you.”

She couldn’t reach it.

I showed the chat history to the other two roommates.

They were at a loss for words.

“Janice, how could you pretend to be Brianna?”

“Exactly. Is he your boyfriend or hers? If someone finds out, they’ll think Brianna’s seeing two guys at once.”

With the truth out, Janice’s face went through a spectrum of colors.

She stammered,

“How about I pay you? I’ll give you the rate for fake photos online — ten bucks each, okay?”

I laughed in disbelief.

“So should I meet him in person for you too?”

“Is that okay?”

“No.”

“Fine, don’t. Why are you yelling?”

“Apologize to me, and come clean with your boyfriend. No more misunderstandings. Got it?”

Janice got defensive.

“I already said I’d pay you. Why are you being so aggressive? Can’t we talk nicely?”

What was wrong with her?

She was in the wrong and still acting entitled.

I was about to snap back when comments started floating across my vision again.
