She Tried to Ruin My Future and I Ruined Her First Chapter 10

Lila jerked her head up. 

Her face was a mask of raw, unfiltered venom. “Why did I hate you? Sienna, do you really not know?” 

“I hated you from the day you transferred in.” 

I had transferred in during the second semester of 

freshman year, and as far as I knew, I had never done 

anything to her. 

But Lila’s voice rose into a sharp, ragged scream. 

“Before you showed up, I was the star. I was the 

scholar, the artist, the one everyone looked up to. Evan 

was mine. He brought me water at the meets. He asked 

me for help.” 

Then she stared at me like she wanted to claw my face 

apart. 

“And then you showed up, and everything changed.” 

Her chest rose and fell violently. 

“The second you walked into that classroom, every eye in the room stuck to you. Teachers said your name and 

talked about how poised you were. The boys whispered 

that you were the prettiest girl in school. Even the girls 

crowded around you asking questions and left me 

standing there like I didn’t exist.” 

Her voice cracked into a scream. “Why?” 

Tears and fury poured down together. 

“Why did you get to steal everyone’s attention that 

easily? It took me half a year to earn my place in that 

class. Half a year to get people to notice me. You did it 

in one day and crushed me without even trying.” 

She was breathing hard now, half sobbing, half 

snarling. 

“And after you came, Evan only had eyes for you. Do 

you have any idea how jealous I was when I found out you two had grown up together? Why was everything yours? Why did you get the better family, the better 

life, the better everything?” 

Her voice grew more unhinged with every word. 

“I couldn’t stand it. The minute you came in, I turned 

into your background character. I watched everyone 

hold you up like you were something precious. I watched you accept all that attention like it was the most natural thing in the world. I was so jealous I 

wanted to rip you down and make you feel what I felt, 

what it was like to be ignored, pushed aside, 

forgotten.” 

Then her eyes hardened with vicious satisfaction. 

“So I started setting you up.” 

At last, she said the things she had buried all those 

years. 

“I hid your homework notebook. I soaked your running shoes before track day. I spread the rumor that you stole someone’s pen. And that practice exam in senior year? I switched your answer sheet on purpose. That’s how I beat you by two points.” 

She almost laughed through the tears. 

“The Finals was my last chance. I wanted to destroy it for you. I wanted you to crash all the way to the bottom. I thought if you failed hard enough, maybe you’d finally stop looking so proud. I planned everything, and the one thing I never planned for was you having a 

backup.” 

Her confession cracked through every lie in the room 

like lightning. 

Everyone stood there stunned. 

All those years of ‘clumsiness‘ and ‘bad luck‘ were nothing but the calculated strikes of a girl whose soul 

had been consumed by envy. 

Evan’s face had gone paper–white. 

He stumbled back a step, staring at her in total disbelief. Then he turned to me, lips shaking, clearly 

trying to say something. 

But not a single word came out.
