She Took Over My Perfect Life To Get Revenge, Only To Be Trapped In My Hell Chapter 06

The moment Declan said that, the room went silent.

Maya’s face went ashen.

She hurried over and hooked her arm through Declan’s.

“Of course you’ve seen her. She’s in our major.”

“She was always heavy and super invisible. You probably just don’t remember her.”

She sounded like she was explaining, but her fingers were clenched tightly around Declan’s sleeve.

Declan ignored her and kept his eyes on me.

“That’s not what I meant.”

“The way you walk. It reminds me of someone.”

My heart skipped a beat.

But so what?

He remembered my habits, but he’d never actually cared.

After my rib surgery, I couldn’t sleep through the night from the pain. All he cared about was how

washed out I looked in photos.

When I passed out from low blood sugar after starving myself, he just had his driver take me home and went back to the party.

Now that I had a different face, he suddenly couldn’t stop looking.

How ridiculous.

I gently pulled my wrist free.

“Declan, that pickup line’s older than my grandma.”

A few people around us snickered.

Declan’s expression stiffened.

He’d been treated like royalty his entire life, always admired wherever he went.

He’d probably never imagined a girl he’d once looked down on would reject him in front of

everyone.

Maya, however, looked like she’d just been thrown a lifeline.

She stepped in between us.

‘Declan, you’ve got the wrong person.”

“She’s always been jealous of me. Over the summer, she even copied the way I dressed and carried

herself.”

Nice try. Turning it all back on me.

I glanced down at the white gown she was wearing and smiled.

“Seraphina, did you forget that dress has a twenty–three–inch waist?”

“Not too uncomfortable today?”

Maya’s face fell.

The gown looked elegant on the outside, but it had rigid boning around the waist.

My parents had made me live on liquids for an entire month just so I could fit into it.

Maya had no idea.

She probably saw it as a trophy, something she had to squeeze into just to prove she’d won.

My words made her breath come faster.

A thin sheen of sweat broke out on her forehead.

“It’s my dress. What’s it to you?”

She forced herself upright, but the movement was too sharp. She gasped.

The next second, her face went white as she clutched the right side of her ribs.

Declan frowned and caught her.

“What’s wrong?”

“N–Nothing.”

Maya gritted her teeth and glared at me.

“I just haven’t been sleeping well.”

Of course I knew why it hurt.

That missing rib hadn’t just given her a smaller waist.

Post–surgery nerve pain, restricted breathing, a dull ache whenever the weather turned. Any one of

em was enough to make her suffer.

And to fit into that gown, she’d probably been forced to starve and lace herself into a corset again.

This was only the beginning.
