Revenge of the Missing Wife Chapter 14

I heard that Landon almost laughed from anger. He let out a cold scoff.  

“Who said I don’t love her? I love her. The person I love most has always been her! You’re nothing but a distraction! Who 

gave you the right to lay a hand on her? Alex, do it. Or do you want me to show you how myself?!” 

Alex muttered to himself-if he really loved Mrs. Vance, would he have treated her like that? He couldn’t make sense of it. 

Still, he followed the order and slapped Ava with all his strength. 

A man’s strength was nothing like a woman’s. With just one strike, Ava’s face swelled instantly. The fragile, pitiful 

expression vanished. She slumped against the wall, tears finally spilling out-real ones this time. 

All her arrogance disappeared. She lowered her voice and begged. 

“Landon, I know I was wrong. I really know. Please, just let me go. I can apologize to Eleanor.” 

“Don’t hit me anymore. My face will be ruined!” 

She covered her cheeks desperately, curling in on herself. 

Looking at her, Landon felt nothing but irritation. He waved his hand, signaling Alex to stop. 

“Take her away. Let the bodyguards carry out the rest of the punishment. After that, arrange proper psychological 

counseling for her-the voluntary kind. What she did was vicious, but not worth any more of my time. When it’s done, she is 

never to appear in front of me again.” 

“As for her parents, cut off all medical payments immediately. Whatever they owe Eleanor, they can deal with it 

themselves.” 

Alex acknowledged the order and called in the bodyguards. 

Ava looked at Landon in despair, unable to understand how everything had come to this. 

She made one last desperate attempt, lunging toward him. 

“Even if I was wrong, you taught me this! She deserved it! You shouldn’t treat me and my parents like this!” 

“Landon Blackwood, you said you’d spoil me, indulge me-that I could do anything, even tear the sky apart! Why are you doing this? Don’t you love me anymore?!” 

She cried uncontrollably, refusing to give up.  

Landon’s gaze turned dark and dangerous. His voice was cold with impatience. 

“I don’t. I’m bored. After Eleanor left, you’re not that interesting anymore.”  

“You’re just a toy I could treat however I wanted. When I spoiled you, it was a privilege I gave you. When I don’t, you have no right to question me.” 

“From today on, you have nothing to do with me. Your things will be packed and sent to your parents’ house. The apartment and the car will be taken back. After your punishment, disappear from my sight forever.” 

With those words, Ava collapsed completely. The bodyguards dragged her away as she went limp. 

Landon pressed his aching temples, but the irritation inside him only grew stronger. 

Since Eleanor left, everything had become unbearably dull. 

Even the empire he had built with his own hands felt meaningless. 

Only then did he realize it had always been him who couldn’t live without her. 

Not the other way around.
