Revenge of the Missing Wife Chapter 15

Revenge of the Missing Wife Chapter 15

I heard that in the past, when he grew bored, he simply stopped caring about me. He believed I loved him deeply, believed I had nothing, believed I would never be able to leave him.

Reality had slapped him hard.

If the man he used to be saw what he had done now, he would probably hate himself.

Back then, he had truly loved me.

But that love couldn’t withstand time-or the lure of something new.

Landon stood by the window, looking out over the glowing skyline of New York, feeling nothing but emptiness.

Life had suddenly lost all meaning.

At that moment, his phone lit up again. It was his friend, Julian Thorne.

“Landon, we’re all at the club. You coming tonight? Bring that new girl of yours. As for your wife… better leave her at

home. She’s too stiff. No fun at all.”

Hearing the loud music and laughter on the other end, Landon’s brows furrowed, anger flickering in his voice.

“I broke up with Ava. And if you say one more bad word about Eleanor, I’ll make sure Thorne Shipping doesn’t survive it.”

Julian froze. The room behind him went quiet.

After a moment, he forced a laugh.

“You’ve got to be kidding. Didn’t you like that girl? Why break up all of a sudden? What about Eleanor?”

“We’re divorced.” Landon’s voice was low, heavy with something hard to name.

The room fell completely silent.

“What? Seriously? You actually divorced?”

Seeing his silence, they realized it was true. They suppressed their excitement and pretended to comfort him.

“Landon, you must be going through a lot. Come have a drink. We’ve got you.”

After a long pause, Landon agreed.

At the private club downtown, he sat with a dark expression, saying nothing, drinking whiskey glass after glass.

His friends surrounded him, some pretending to speak up for him.

“Landon, Eleanor really doesn’t know what she’s doing. Marrying into the Blackwood family is like winning the lottery. And she still divorced you? Unreal.”

“Exactly. It’s just a woman on the side. Everyone in our circle has them. You stayed loyal for six years-can’t you loosen up a bit?”

“Yeah, it’s not like you made it public. Just one girl. You get bored, you drop her. Why make such a big deal out of it?”

Some of them clearly had other thoughts but went along with the conversation.

Landon listened, feeling only irritation.

With a loud bang, he slammed his glass onto the table.

The room went silent.

He scanned the room, frowning.

“Where are Julian and his brother Carter?”

Before anyone could answer, Julian walked in, smiling, still on the phone.

“Bro, you’ve liked Eleanor for years, haven’t you? Now that Landon’s actually divorced, this is your chance.”

“You don’t get opportunities like this twice. I’ve set things up for you long enough. If you don’t take it now, don’t blame me

for not helping.”

“Who would’ve thought our kind of lifestyle would actually be useful for once? Honestly, the guys in our circle who have

stable marriages are the ones who stay loyal.”

“If you can’t control yourself, you end up making a mess. Sure, I like to have fun, but I’ve never thought about getting

married and ruining some girl’s life. I’ll just live day by day. But you-if you don’t settle down soon, you’re going to be alone

forever.”

Julian sounded carefree, but his words to his older brother were sincere.

On the other end, Carter Thorne simply replied in a calm, steady voice:

“I won’t waste this chance. I’m already in Europe.”
