Revenge Is the Best Wedding Gift Chapter 15

Bringing such smelly documents back to the hospital naturally made me furious.

For some reason, since my “amnesia,” my temper had become particularly bad. I grabbed everything I could reach by the hospital bed—water cup, fruit, remote control—and threw them hard at Rafe, accusing him with red eyes:

“You can’t even protect our marriage certificates. You don’t care about me at all, and you don’t love me. I’m finding a lawyer to divorce you!”

The word “divorce” stabbed Rafe’s nerves like a needle, making him completely panic.

He knelt directly beside the hospital bed without caring about his image, begging and explaining:

“Baby, it’s all my fault for not keeping them safe. But we can get replacements at city hall. Once I get the replacements, I’ll definitely lock them in a safe. Please trust me one more time, okay?”

Finally, after Rafe continued kneeling and begging, and transferred several million dollars into my bank trust account as compensation, I reluctantly agreed on the day I was discharged to go with him to re-register our marriage.

However, when we reached the car, I unhesitatingly opened the back seat door.

Thinking I’d forgotten my habit of getting carsick, Rafe smiled ingratiatingly as he reminded me:

“Darling, did you forget you get carsick in the back seat? Sit in the passenger seat.”

I looked coldly out the window without even turning my head:

“I don’t want to sit in front. Who knows how many random women have sat in that passenger seat—just looking at it makes me nauseous.”

Rafe’s face instantly turned pale as he awkwardly forced a smile:

“How could that be? No one has ever sat there. But if it bothers you, I’ll get a new car tomorrow.”

I snorted coldly, noncommittal.
