Blaze’s.”

“Turns out she was sleeping with, like, seven or eight guys before the wedding. No clue who the

real dad is.”

“Damn. Blaze got played big time. He was cheated on.”

“Serves him right! Ditched Selene for trash like her. Bet he’s kicking himself every single day.”

The room went dead silent for a second.

“I heard he lost it right there in the hospital. Tried to file for divorce. Lilith refused and caused a

scene.”

“Blaze snapped. Beat her so bad she ended up in the ICU.”

“Her family called the cops. He got arrested.”

“Paid out a fortune just to get her to sign the settlement.”

“Still stuck in court now.”

“Total disaster. Honestly? Karma.”

Everyone was eating it up-until the door swung open.

Blaze stood there.

He wore an old, faded down jacket. His hair was a greasy mess. He had hollow cheeks, purple

shadows under his eyes, and a scruffy beard-nothing like the arrogant man he used to be.

Just… broken. Defeated.

The room fell silent.

Blaze didn’t look at anyone else. His eyes locked onto me.

Then they dropped to my slightly rounded belly. His face crumpled instantly.

His voice came out raw and broken. “Selene… you’re pregnant?”

His eyes reddened further, burning with too many emotions-pain, resentment, jealousy

He took a step forward, voice trembling. “Selene… are you… are you happy?”

I looked at him like he was a stranger.

No hatred. No anger. Just cold indifference.

“Very happy. My Alpha takes care of me. Every day is good.”

Blaze swayed violently, catching himself against the doorframe.

He covered his face, shoulders shaking as he sobbed.

“Selene, I regret it… God, I regret it so much…”

“If I hadn’t left that day… it’d be me by your side. My kid growing in your belly…”

Disgust twisted in my gut.

“Blaze, don’t be pathetic.”

“You made your choice. Live with it.”

Alaric pulled me closer, shooting Blaze a glacial stare.

“My wife needs peace and quiet. Leave.”

Blaze turned and stumbled out, shoulders hunched.

Two hours later, the party wrapped up.

Alaric held my hand as we stepped out of the hotel.

Cold wind bit at our faces. Then, from behind the flower beds-

A shrill scream tore through the night.

“Selene, you bitch!”

Lilith charged at us.

Her hair was matted and wild. She wore a stained, oversized nightgown. Her body was bloated, her

face blotched with melasma, and her eyes sunken and hollow

That delicate, fragile image she used to sell? Gone.

All that was left was a bitter, ruined woman.
