Rejected on the Frost Moon Night, Claimed by the Alpha King Chapter 06

I looped my arm through Alaric’s.

“Honey, let’s go home. Don’t let some stray dog put a damper on our evening.”

Alaric chuckled, opening the car door for me. “Whatever you say,

wife.”

Blaze lunged toward the car, desperation twisting his face.

“Selene-I messed up before, okay? I didn’t think it through-”

“Leaving you on the highway… I thought you could get a ride. I didn’t know it would rain. I took care/

of you when you had the fever, didn’t I?”

“And the car accident-I didn’t realize you were hurt that bad. I thought it was just a scratch-”

“As for the bag… give me your card. Buy whatever you want. Please?” His eyes were wild, bloodshot

with regret. “I’ll make it up to you. I swear.”

“Blaze,” Alaric said coldly, pulling me closer, “do I need to remind you that Selene is my mate?”

“You’re standing right in front of me, chasing after my wife like some pathetic third wheel. You

think I’m invisible?”

With a sharp gesture, Alaric’s bodyguards surged forward.

Blaze was slammed face-first into the wet asphalt.

Alaric held the umbrella over me, looking down at him like he was garbage.

“I handed Selene the entire Silvermoon Pack on a silver platter. You really think she’d settle for your pocket change?”

Blaze’s face turned sickly green, humiliation burning in his eyes. “Selene… you really don’t love me anymore? You’re just going to let him humiliate me like this?”

“The moment you chose Lilith over me at our mating ceremony, I stopped loving you,” I said flatly.

Watching him struggle in the mud made my stomach turn.

How had I ever been stupid enough to fall for someone so rotten?

“We’re done. Stay out of my life.”

I turned into Alaric’s arms. “Honey, let’s go.”

“Of course.” He shielded me as we got into the Maybach.

The tires kicked up a wave of dirty water, splashing Blaze from head to toe.

I lowered the window, watching in the rearview mirror as he collapsed in the rain, pounding the ground with his fists, sobbing like a stray dog.

What a joke.

Regret is a cheap currency

It was a good thing I woke up early. From then on, our lives wouldn’t intersect again.

A year into our marriage, I got pregnant.

Alaric stared at the two pink lines on the pregnancy test, then literally jumped in the living room.

He canceled a full month of international business trips on the spot.

Within days, three top-tier maternity nurses and two private nutritionists moved into the estate to plan my meals.

He enrolled me in prenatal yoga and baby bonding classes.

Every evening, Alaric would come home, press his ear to my belly, and talk softly to our child, already acting like the world’s most devoted father.

Despite being pregnant, I glowed. My skin was luminous, my figure fuller, healthier-like some rare, pampered bloom.

Time flew. At the end of the year, my university class held a reunion.

Alaric postponed a multi-billion-dollar merger meeting just to accompany me.

The private dining room was warm and bright.

When my classmates saw Alaric carefully helping me out of my coat, then tucking a cushion behind

my lower back, they gasped.

The class president raised his glass, marveling. “Selene, you really landed in heaven. The way Alaric takes care of you-none of us even comes close.”

A girl eyed my Hermès bag with barely concealed envy. “That’s a limited edition! Your husband spoils you rotten.”

“Honestly, you’re the luckiest one here. Married into power, adored by a man like that-don’t mind me, I’m just crying.”

‘And you’re even more stunning now than before. Pregnancy clearly suits you. Unlike the rest of us

-married, pregnant, drowning in chores and grocery lists.”

“Exactly! Everyone pitied you when you didn’t end up with Blaze, but look at you now. You dodged a

bullet.”

The mention of Blaze lit up the room.

A few girls leaned in, voices dropping to conspiratorial whispers.

“Did you hear? Blaze is a total mess.”

“Lilith showed up pregnant and forced a wedding. He didn’t even want to marry her, but did it for

the kid.”

“Now they fight constantly. Screaming matches every other day. Total chaos in that house.”
