Reborn to Marry the Right Mafia Brother Chapter 05

Reborn to Marry the Right Mafia Brother Chapter 05

Lucien takes me to the Falcone Family headquarters.

On the way there, I keep trying to listen for his thoughts, but I still hear nothing.

Then again, a man like him, standing at the very top of the underworld, has long since learned to

keep his emotions completely hidden. How could someone like that ever let me see through him so

easily?

When we arrive at headquarters, Lucien leads me into his office.

“Stay here.”

With that, he turns and walks away.

Through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors, I see him suddenly pick up his pace and walk straight into

the conference room next door.

Something tells me to follow.

Inside, Lucien is negotiating a deal with a British man.

His name is Renzo, a firearms engineer with a modest reputation in Europe’s underground

weapons market. He has developed his own pistol modification system, which supposedly reduces recoil and improves shooting stability.

Today, he brings both a prototype and a contract, clearly here to do business with the Falcone

Family.

[Thank God I did my homework on the Falcone Family.]

[They have more money than they know what to do with. This design barely costs anything to make.

I’m going to bleed them dry today.]

I stop in my tracks.

Renzo still has a relaxed smile on his face, casually holding a cup of coffee. Nothing about him

suggests that he is already plotting how to rip Lucien off.

“Three million.”

He names his price without hesitation.

Lucien sits at the end of the conference table, his fingertips tapping against the surface every few

seconds.

He doesn’t answer.

Renzo immediately continues his pitch.

“Mr. Falcone, trust me. This technology is worth far more than three million.”

Just as Lucien seems ready to agree, I push open the door and walk inside.

“Hello.”

Renzo frowns at me.

I ignore him, walk straight to the table, pick up the prototype pistol, and examine it carefully.

“I’m no expert, but even I can tell this isn’t worth three million.”

Renzo’s expression changes slightly.

Lucien leans back in his chair. He doesn’t stop me. Instead, he watches with clear interest.

I know that means he is letting me continue.

“Your so-called core technology is nothing more than a minor modification to an existing design. It does improve stability, but the trade-off in performance is just as obvious, and the manufacturing cost isn’t nearly as high as you claim.”

I place the pistol back on the table.

“And you know better than anyone that this modification isn’t nearly as revolutionary as you make

it sound.”

The smile finally fades from Renzo’s face.

“But,” I continue, looking at him, “you did get one thing right.”

“You’ve spent years building your name in Europe’s underground market. You’ve also spent plenty of time promoting this technology on professional forums and social media, convincing people that what you have is the next generation of firearm design.”

I raise one finger.

“So what’s actually valuable isn’t the design itself. It’s your reputation and your connections.”

Renzo stares at me.

I hold up one finger.

“One million?”

His eyes immediately light up.

“Mr. Falcone, I think we have a deal.”

Lucien doesn’t answer right away.

He simply looks at him.

I speak calmly.

“No.”

The entire conference room falls silent.

“I said ten thousand.”

Renzo is completely stunned.

“Excuse me?”

He shoots to his feet, his face turning red with anger.

“Who the hell are you? Ten thousand? You call that an offer?”

He grabs the contract from the table, his voice rising.

“Forget it. If the Falcone Family doesn’t want it, I’ll sell it somewhere else.”

He turns to leave.

“Renzo.”

Lucien finally speaks.

The man stops.

Lucien raises his eyes, his gaze so cold that the entire conference room seems to fall silent.

“I’ll give you one million.”

The anger disappears from Renzo’s face instantly, replaced by a smile.

“Thank you, Don Falcone. I knew you were a man who understood business.”

Lucien ignores the flattery and calmly adds,

“Only if you apologize to my wife before you leave.”
