Principeesa Is So Gorgeous, and She’s No Longer Yours Chapter 10

An ambulance transported Leonardo away; he’d fractured two ribs.

Arthur and Kyson lay on the ground, side by side, exchanging a look of mutual respect.

“Not bad, man.”

“You too.”

I couldn’t believe they were joking around at a time like this.

The incident had blown up into a serious mess, with Leonardo hospitalized.

Leonardo’s parents flew back from Europe immediately, and my own parents happened to return home around the same time.

The two families crossed paths outside Leonardo’s hospital room.

At first my parents had no idea what had happened, but once they learned the full truth, my father flew into a rage and grabbed a golf club, ready to march back into the ward and attack Leonardo again.

Leonardo’s parents were thoroughly embarrassed. After apologizing to my mother and father, they proposed a marriage arrangement between our two families to salvage the situation, claiming gossip was ruining my reputation.

They’d heard from my classmates that I’d run out of class vomiting once—surely that meant I was pregnant.

If that was the case, the Ferraro family would acknowledge the child and take responsibility.

According to Arthur, my mother let out a cold scoff right then.

“Do you think our clan is your personal dumping ground?”

“Just because you’ve got garbage you can’t keep on your own property, you think you can dump it onto ours?”

“Are you out of your mind?”

Leonardo’s mother nearly choked from anger on the spot.

The marriage proposal fizzled out in the end, just as I’d feared it would.

The long-standing friendship between our two families shattered completely, turning into open hostility.

More infighting and turf disputes were inevitable from here on out.

My mother noticed my guilty, uneasy look and squeezed my hand tenderly.

“We failed you, honey.”

“We’re so sorry you’ve had to go through all this pain.”

Tears slipped down my cheeks one after another.

Not long afterward, Arthur brought me updates. Leonardo had originally cultivated a connection with Elena solely to win a major business project.

After Elena returned home from university, she entered politics. Coupled with her public reputation as a noted philanthropist, she quickly amassed political clout and funneled opportunities to benefit Leonardo.

Then news broke proving Elena had colluded with organized crime syndicates.

Banks pulled all financing from Ferraro corporate holdings, the project was put out for rebidding, and Kyson walked away with the contract.

That wasn’t all. Word also reached Elena’s father, the mayor, about Leonardo’s two-timing, double-dealing schemes.

The mayor had been spoiling for someone to take his frustration out on, and Leonardo became his target.

On the day Leonardo was released from the hospital, he was abducted.

When his wrecked vehicle was discovered, doctors confirmed both his legs could not be saved.

The perpetrator was a habitual criminal who turned himself in to police immediately after the crime. Everyone knew he’d been paid to do it.

Arthur recounted the whole story vividly, fired up with satisfaction.

“It’s so satisfying!”

“Absolutely perfect justice!”

“He deserved every bit of it!”

“After everything he put my sister through? Breaking both his legs is far too lenient.”

He’d gotten so fired up ranting that his bow tie was askew.

I shook my head with a faint, weary smile.

“Hey, have you memorized your speech for the bride’s side for the wedding later?”

Arthur yelped in panic.

“Shoot, I only got halfway through!”

He bolted out of the room in a rush, the door slamming shut behind him.

I sighed and shook my head again.

A soft knock sounded at the door, and I called out for them to come in.

Kyson’s gentle voice drifted through the doorway.

“Charlotte, it’s me.”

“Are you almost ready?”

Before I could reply, the makeup artist teased playfully.

“Your groom’s so eager to see you—he’s checked in several times already.”

Kyson heard the remark outside, unable to hide the quiet joy in his tone.

“Take all the time you want.”

“We’ve got all the time in the world.”

The corners of my lips tugged upward. He was right.

We had an entire lifetime ahead of us. All the time we would ever need.
